Do u know in China they don't have Google, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube, and countless other apps the rest of the world take for granted. Do u think it's by choice? The Party decides what's best for you. Your job is to demonstrate that you are very happy with it, with no hint of dissent. That's what's meant by subdued.
Digital age! They will monitor everything u do on the web and also can shut down Naija cyberspace when they wish.
Are we talking about the same China? The China that US is accusing of stealing their technology? Think the Chinese use the US tech they been stealing to feed pigs? You live in a very tiny part of the world it would seem, not to know that China has thriving equivalents that serve their purpose well without the poluting western outlook that goes with it. And if you think many Chinese don't find their way to getting even Google, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube, then you don't know much about human beings either.

If Naija has Yahoo2 China's own is Yahoo9

Be there taking the words of someone who lives in the west and sees a lack of Google, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube as deprivation! If Nigeria has its own thriving Nigerian apps as China does, I think I'd be proud in fact. Not everyone sees western indoctrination as a positive thing.

This might be true, but the whole debt would still be paid through direct/indirect tax by the whole Nigerian.
African Leader's from inception has No/low debt management skills.Very Soon, China would buy all the Africa's Countries National Assets if these warning are not adhered to.

Unbelievable! There he is, referencing a Chinese govt propaganda site. So you’d like the likes of Buhari and APC to decide what apps u have, have spyware on your phone, and be able to monitor every keystroke u make. Ok, may your wishes come true. Good luck.

From the write-up they are actually warning us from taking Chinese loans, lols which looks like a cry from a drowning nation because nations no longer go to the US for loans but now opt for the Chinese. Hypocrites, they won't tell you they are the biggest debtor in the world.
it's actually true Nigeria is towing in line

But wait.... Is US high on something grin US debt is around all time high of 22 trillion dollars!
Who are they advising? Debtor saying someone should not borrow cheesy
Nigeria debt is just 24 billion Naira, my pain is just the looting and embezzlement, if not, I would have advised the African Nations to borrow more to develop our continent but these African leaders are possessed by the spirit of stealing government money.
Till I become President of Nigeria, the government should not borrow again. cool

Well, if these countries can't pay back their loans, then the lenders would go ahead and take over their economies, ushering in the newest form of colonialism.

Maybe Africa is better being colonized, since her leaders are irredeemably corrupt and backward.

China don buy Africa finish, recolonization looms.
JubrinElSudan:
The worst is that African's major creditor is China. Some persons will say US/IMF/Paris club etc are angry Africans don't borrow from them, but atleast the western creditors had history of erasing some of the debts. But China? China will lend you, use her manpower to execute the projects(like CCECC is doing to us), and once you default, they take over
Temple1288:
Africans are just too daft to understand that the Chinese people who give out this loan are extremely difficult to handle..

grin grin grin

The IRONY in these comments is that China is the BIGGEST lender to the US...
Holding almost 30% of US foreign debt, and US indebtedness to China is more than all African debt to China COMBINED!

That is the difference between the country that is thinking (China) and the one that is not thinking (Nigeria/Africa)

A borrower will always be a slave to the lender

China holds almost 30% of US sovereign debt...
By your analogy that makes the US China’s b*tch! grin

First, the world’s single most indebted nation should not be lecturing anyone else on debt...

Nonetheless, taking Chinese loans to build rail lines, airports, power plants, seaports and such infrastructure should have the sort a multiplier effect that boosts productivity, increases our GDP, creates jobs and generates wealth and revenue to put us in a better position to repay same.

You obviously missed this below previously posted. (Note that those US treasury notes are the safest of investments and the world can’t get enough of them)

You clearly don’t understand US debt.

Unlike Africa countries, US don’t go and borrow money, all US debts are paper debt.

US simply create treasury notes, then go to the market and sell the notes. Note holders get paid interest and when they are tired of holding the notes, they go into the same market and sell them to another individual and the price of the note at each varies depending on the strength of US economy and other external factors.

Africa countries borrow money with stringent requirements and conditions and also consequences if they don’t pay back as agreed..

Debt is debt...
It may come in several forms, but it still means the same thing - you OWE money.

Treasury bills are not just “paper”, they are PROMISSORY NOTES...
The not only pay interest, but they ultimately have to be redeemed!

PS: And just btw, if China elects to dump its treasuries...
Best be assured that there will be one heck of a market panic!

But China won’t elect to dump - it is not in their interest.

US can get rid of all that debt in s blink if they wish by internal bail out. U forget China pays $100 for a piece of paper that cost US 10 cents to print because that’s how they can buy materials from other countries

Read this thread carefully

You have left the substance of the discussion to harp on inanity. Just kindly tell us where and when the Chinese took over another country because of some unpaid debt.
