The whole thing started when an impostor who claimed to be the young man in the Soyinka airplane incident dropped a reply explaining why he did what he did on the plane.. (you can read the article here: https://www.nairaland.com/5262183/young-man-wole-soyinka-leave)

In his reply, the guy claimed he had a PhD from the University of Mannittawiw, and that he was also a lecturer in the same school (spoiler alert: there’s no institution named Mannittawiw on earth) .. He also said he was on the Autism spectrum and needed the view from the window to keep him from getting sick on the plane and that was the reason he insisted on taking the window seat.

Apparently.. Guardian.ng ran the news without even confirming if the information was true or false... Ergo the lambastment on twitter.
