Ace16:Where are the parents who born him and his other 6 or 8 siblings? This is the same rubbish being peddled for decades and that is why Nigerians don't understand the causes let alone the solution. Govt and God have nothing to do with it. It wont change until Nigerian citizens develop some COMMONSENSE with things like Only produce children you can feed and cater for refuse to accept crooked governments promote community initiatives Do not live above your means. |

Had it been I knew the man and he told me his story of how he feels depressed, I would have helped him overcome the depression with a book written by Vincent.P It's so sad seeing people committing suicide. Suicide is not the solution but the reasoning perspective. When you subjects yourself to pessimistic thoughts, worry or anxiety comes and starts weakening your system there by making you feel dejected. When a person wakes up, he or she decides if he/she wanna be happy or sad. This decision is to be taken by you. Some people when they didn't make any sale for the day, they become angry. When they are home, they channel their angers on their children. Some men on their wife, some women on their children which is very bad. Always put up a smiling face even if business ain't booming well. You will still be happy and treat people around you with love. Let reason an incident that had happened at a viewing centre. A man was watching football, he had a team he supported which happened to be his favourite. In first half at 40:23, his team was loosing 3-0, he became angry and started frowning his face. He also cursed the players in front of the display tv. After I had noticed how he was and his capricious attitude. I walked up to him and told him to stop doing that to himself. I said to him," sir, why are you doing this to yourself? you look terrible and unfriendly at the moment, please stop this shouting and abusive words on players." He said that they made him angry and played as if they ain't paid. I brought my chair close to him and I told him that he should see what's happening to him. I told him that he could be happy again and he said never with this 3-0 at half time. I told him that as this second half was about to start, that he should choose the team that would make him happy. I suggested he chose the team leading with 3-0 and forget about the losing team of his. Second half started we both started supporting the team leading 3-0, in five minutes time, it was 4-0. His mood changed for better and he was saying good things about the team leading like; what a nice pass, I love that dribbling, what an accurate through pass, that number 7 is a good striker...etc. Happiness came immediately he made his decision on supporting the winning side. Now tell me, If you were that man, would you prefer to support your losing team and be eaten up by angerness or you prefer to support the other team and remain happy for the rest of the moment of that match? You see, now from the above, had it been that man taught about his wife, his children, when businesses were booming well, how his wife loves him, how his children call him dad with sweet voices and many more, he wouldn't have committed suicide. Always think positive and the thought of suicide would never take over your mind. Let me say my story. I gained admission into the university which happens to be a month to exam. They have done practicals and tests and I missed that as a result of late admission. I started reasoning in a negative way. I couldn't sleep, eat, i even lose weight. As we approached the next month, exams started and I was very studious and sad the same time because of my late admission. Results were out and out of 14 courses I had F in a 2 unit course, "Foundry" because they didn't organise make-up for those admitted late. Although phy, chem, bio organised theirs but only foundry. I told myself that there is no need to feel depressed, let me move on. I celebrated my "F" because I don't wana feel depressed or let the word "F" keep taunting me. Year two first semester, I added it to my unit and in the end i cleared. When i was about to check that result, I told my self i need not be scared. Since I did practicals, all three complete, I did assignment, test and exam also. I told my self it's gonna be an "A" I went straight to the lecturer's office, entered and told him what I had come for. He asked me why I failed it in year one. I told him I was admitted late and I didn't do practicals. He said he asked me that question because i made "A". I just smiled and pen down my result and left. My strength here is that i celebrated my "F", there by making me happy and free of depression as a result of the celebration. I got freed from depression and I had a better view and reasoning. So my fellow Nairalanders, no situation warrants suicide. Always remain focus and strong in life. |

Joromi12:I agree with you and I don’t blame most people for taking (the easy way out ) it’s not actually easy , people will contibute money for funeral , because they want it lit , families want to show off wealth and satisfy thier friends that attend , they will eat and drink beer , but if you need school fee .. that’s when they will remember that they have kids . Stories upon stories . One thing that is certain about humans is disappointment . People disappoint . |
