Op, Calabar is just a place in Cross River and not the State itself.

What of Akamkpa, Ugep, Ikom, Ogoja or Obudu? What does it cost to rent an apartment in these other Cross River towns?

OP should have titled this thread the COST OF HOUSES IN CALABAR.

we have other LGA in Cross River state. The truth is that outside Calabar, houses in other LGAs are very cheap that's why some people prefer to live at places like Akpabuyo, Akampka, Odukpani, Bakassi and go to work everyday at Calabar main town.

Most of those places within Calabar South are places you can't live and sleep with your two eyes. Your ears must be at alert always.

Single rooms goes for 4k, 5k or 6k depending on your location.

Self contain 80k, 100k or 120k depending on location . With tiles 150 - 180

One bedroom flat goes for 150, 180 or 200k
Two bedroom flat goes for 200 to 250
Three bedroom goes for 300 to 350k
All depending on your location.

The environment is nice, the people are hospitable. Good food. Good and memorable places to visit.

Electricity is better than most states
Business opportunities especially in the north
Nice and civil populace.
Good fresh and healthy food.
Relatively low pressure on social amenities

Rents and commodities are very expensive here. The only things that are cheap here is vegetables and women.

Self contain: 200,000 and above
1 bedroom: 300,000 and above
2 bedroom: 400,000 and above
3 bedroom: 650 and above

In some places, 2 bedroom apartment goes up to 800k per annum.

Calabar is more expensive. Not that there's lots of opportunities, just an enjoyment city.

Calabar is facing housing deficit. The city is filled with civil servants and you know they don't have that kinda financial muscles ��.

Calabar is not really a state for many business.

the names given to some areas in Calabar are not Efik names, because ORIGINALLY Efik are not the majority from my research. Calabar town has three major tribes Ejagam, Efut and the Efiks. the 'g's in Afokang and Ikot Enebong are not silent.
