If this govt is serious about fighting corruption, they should send an executive bill to the house to put a cap on what anybody in govt either appointed or elected can earn and if they refuses to pass it into law then Nigerian will know who to hold. |

The only way Nigeria can move forward is to kill all these old men politicians...Just gather them for one big event, make sure no one is missing and set them on fire, spare them with millions of bullets. When this is done, even the younger politicians will have fear inside of them |

That's "chicken change" when compared with the amount governors loot from state treasuries on a monthly basis. 18M/month for 4 years isn't even close to #1 billion. #1billion is a paltry sum to the average Nigerian governor. If given a chance, all Nigerian Senators would prefer to be Governors of their states. Nigeria is cursed! 3 Likes |

Agugbadin: He didn't lie, Nigerians just choose to remain adamantly ignorant and stup!d. There is a difference between monthly take home and monthly salary. The salary of a Senate president is less than 1m, and the salary of a sitting Governor is roughly N800,000. That's a basic salary. It excludes security votes, furniture allowances, housing allowances, inflated projects, non-contracted projects, nonexistent projects, travel allowances, monthly operating expenses, inflated state budgets, budgets for the dead, diverted gratuities, diverted pension monies, diverted unpaid salaries, allowances for pseudo aides and assistants, budget for the first lady and aides, Governor's vacation expense, Governor's leave expense, diverted extra budgetary allocations, diverted World Bank and UN loans, bribes, diverted Paris fund, diverted internally generated revenue, etc. Nigeria is a cursed Nation. 8 Likes 4 Shares |

vegafbs: The 15 million naira is not a take home salary, It is an amount of money dedicated to run the office of the Senate. Each senator has 20 - 30 members of staff from PAs to secretaries, to treasurer, etc. The money also goes into maintaining their offices n paying bills associated wit it. 15 million naira is nothing to a senator, they buy houses worth millions of dollars abroad, does 15 million naira buy such houses? Bribes and lobby money that senators receive from Shell, Chevron, TOTAL, AGIP, GLO, 9MOBILE, MTN, FIRSTBANK, GTBANK, DSTV etc to make favourable laws for them and protect their bisonesses is the main cash that Nigerian senators make. 4 Likes |

What! 15m per month. hmm. Maybe it's a mistake, he meant per year. But come again. One incumbent senator then did talk of this . Truly it's per month not per year I am just confused. In totality, just like our elections; it is INCONCLUSIVE |
