Woe to Tinubu! This is what you have brought upon us. When we in the southeast say Bubu is a tribalist, a religious bigot that is out to Islamise the country you people said we are politically immature and we put our eggs in one basket. Now it's all too clear for all to see. It will never succeed in Jesus name.
Brother nothing concern south east with tinubu

If you want to insult the man insult him but you don't have to be using the man name and south east as if we have any business with him.

He is irrelevant to south east

You lack knowledge of history and obviously, you can't even make projections for the future. Under the land use act, land belongs to the state government. The state government said they had no land for to give for that purpose, and you went ahead to forcefully grab people's fathers' land; it contravenes the land use act.
In the examples you sited of people compromising, they were done willingly by parties involved, and benefits were mutual.
In this case, Fulani's are the only ones benefiting, it is wrong, it is enslavement, it is a cauldron that will annihilate Nigeria.
Fulani/Hausa has taken the South for granted for almost a lifetime, forgetting that the south is a sleeping giant in disunity. But when the south unites and finally wakes up, Fulani/Hausa will be pushed to extinction.
THE UNITY OF SOUTHERN NIGERIA IS NEAR...

Where have you heard that lands were grabbed? This news are beer parlor news. The FGN is far more civilized than this assertions you attaching to it.

Saying Fulani's are the ones benefiting is born out of shallow analysis.

How do feel when you just generalize that a tribe is taking Nigeria for granted. Are you saying you have a no Fulani friend? They all killers and dominate. cheesy cheesy cheesy

Its glaring your disagreement is born out of hate and not sincerity. You will only attack an option, You cant suggest a better and fairer option.

U are indeed an uneducated Herdsman. The federal government of Nigeria does not have any land across the 36 states of the federation, according to the 1978 land act OBJ did for us (which will save us from this Herdsmen land grabbing), All lands belong to the government and those lands remain under the care of the state governors, only a state governor can approve giving away any land within a state.

Have you seen Ortom in the press to say Land were grabbed or you heard in a beer parlor?

Great news!

This will end the farmers/Herdsmen clashes.

The Governor should capitalize on this initiative and completely ban open grazing without clauses.

Benue state police commissioner should be put in loop of development and anyone found straying or wandering should be arrested henceforth. Outside this settlements, No other settle ment for herdsmen should be allowed in state and a database of practicing herdsmen should be maintained by the state government.

You are a devil.

1. Do you have proof to buttress this claim. Its not justifiable to say a crime is solely committed by a tribe.

2. When we talking of National security, such idea is welcomed. Do you know how much countries spend in servicing refugee camps? In as much they dont adulterate their society, they dont mind the cost. The Government is going towards confining them and going after the criminals. It will be easier for state security agencies to go after the criminals.

3.We are in a country with alot of security challenges, If we believe that since no one has been prosecuted and we fold our arms and let the status quo continue, we will be making progress or retrogressing? We just need to start from somewhere.

4.So we abolish cattle rearing you saying?

5 How do you vouch for sincerity when the ball is not even yet rolling and entangled with political, tribal and religious differences. This suggestion should be the first move before we can start talking about sincerity of the system.

6 Comparing sex offenders to professionals is a No No. Your point here holds no water

Again you typed alot and yet said nothing grin

You didn't address any of the questions, so for s third time I stated not all fulani are criminals I agree but are you aware all herdsmen killers are fulani? And alot are of Foreign nationality as stated by you president ?

Secondly all the killings perpetuated by the fulani herdsmen over the years which buhari himself didn't deny but went onto say these killers are foreign fulani, what is being done to apprehend them? Is it not logical to make a show of trials and convictions of these criminals who have killed thousands over the years before embarking on any ruga initiative which would surely be welcomed after the public witnessed the sentencing of those criminals amongst them ?
It is not rocket science chap stop making it seem like we are trying to solve global warming it's simple

Arrest the criminals for killings and rapes over the last 4 years , convict them , then people while subconsciously believe the herdsmen roaming are the innocent ones them push for this ruga initiative and there will be no backlash

So why are is the government putting the cart before the horse?

How can you tell people to support ruga settlements in there states when the killers are still roaming free and probably amongst them? Does that sound logical to you?

Nigerians are some of the smartest beings on Earth this will not fly

These herdsmen have Ben killing , raping and kidnapping freely for years with not a single court conviction and you are here talking about ranching to solve the issue?

Do you realize this will spiral that country into a full blown crisis? With all the rumors of an islamization agenda this will only serve to fuel that rumor, so a reasonable government should tackle this issue in a rather smarter way not like this.

Miss me with this nonsense please

One thing i hate most about most Nigerians is lack of sincerity. The reason for the incessant clashes between herdsmen and farmers in several parts of the country is because herdsmen roam about with their cattle in search of food.Herdsmen and their cattle must be confined in certain locations in order to end their mindless destruction of peoples farm lands and harvests.Whether we adopt ranching, ruga or any other methods,it must surely involve the allocation of lands on a rental or any other terms.Herdsmen and farmers clashes is now national security challenge and embarrassment and consequently must be addressed by the Federal government of Nigeria. Finally,i think other tribes need to venture into the business of cattle rearing in order to remove the exclusivity Fulani

Thunder strike you there!
What do you mean? Isn't cattle rearing a private business just as crop farming? Why would PMB just be insisting on using tax payers money to acquire and develop lands all over Nigeria just for his Fulani tribe? Don't the fulani's have states of origin in Nigeria? Is Sambisa where BokoHaram has been tactically defeated not enough to rear ALL the cattle in Nigeria?

If u don't know, take a good look at the Northern States and you will understand that there are vast lands without people, some of which have not been tapped since creation. There are some local Governments in Bauchi, Borno, Sokoto, etc that are wider than one or two states in the SE, why can't Buhari go and utilize those lands for RUGA?

Whether he calls it RUGA, Cattle Colony or Cattle Settlements, Nigerians knows that the purpose is one and undivided; FULANIzation and ISLAMIzation of Nigeria.

For God's sake, nomadic Fulani's don't use condoms (contraceptives) so their population increases exponentially. What will happen in those communities where RUGA are established when their population out grows the apportioned lands?

It is time for revolution to begin in this country. If Buhari ll use tax payers money to build mansions for his tribe, let him go and do that in the North.

It is rainy season and IDPs displaced by herdsmen are still in open camps all over Nigeria but since it is not the president's tribe that is been displaced, nobody cares.

I hate a man to whom no sense is given.

Oga, the herders should take their cattle back to their state of origin, confine them,
cultivate or buy forage from anywhere to feed them.

That is how it's done in saner parts of the world

Is it only Fulani's that are herdsmen? Stop attributing a crime to a tribe. Their are Okada robbers and their are decent ones. It happens in every industry. Should we say everything in Alaba or Aba is fake because its a hub of piracy.

No price is too expensive for peace to reign and No tribe is important than the other. Manufacturers are giving government loans at discounted interest rate, farmers are giving lands for cultivation at very subsidized rate, Militants are giving amnesty, And investors are wooed with incentives worth more than this.

So if this development will bring peace and draw a boundary, Its highly welcomed.
people that have been regarded as a terrorist group u have not done anything about it as government .why don't this government start this Ruga whatever settlement from the northern region ,then from the success recorded there can make other region to begin to accept it ,y forcing people together when they want?and you the supporter I know u might be fulani, hausa, yoruba .but I want you to know one thing when violence start it doesn't discriminate so we should all know how we show our insecetive support because of political line.

What is great about a supposed forced move? Why are Fulanis/Herders bent on establishing colonies in every part of Nigeria? Why is the Federal government pushing against the will of a state and her people?

Buhari is a cancer, no doubt. He can't remain in power forever and if I were Ortom, I'd sue the Federal government. This is a security issue which must not be taken with levity.

Ortom is too quiet for a governor and the FG knows this. Fayose tackled this menace well Fulanis stayed away from Ekiti up until his tenure lapsed. Any governor who means well for his people would do the same. Enough of Fulanis overrunning Nigeria.

I thought the constitution says all land belongs to the state government, so Why TF is Buhari giving lands to Herdsmen?

You make me repeat same thing. This is a dispersed group of professionals grazing with their herds from North to south. It definitely would pose a security challenge to our security institution has you can attest for their locations. Moving forward is settling up ranches or farm settlements before a war can begin against the criminal minded ones. Like you said, its not rocket science. Root cause analysis will prioritize my point before yours.

The best tin is to for them to rent land for their ranches just like everyother businesses. How come FG is not helping people to rent shops? even shops built by government are not free so why should our common wealth be used to build free stuff for a section. Another tin is these ranches shouldn't be forced on people

Because they are the only herders that move their cows around. Other people indulge in that trade but have ranches privately built or rented so why should one sectioned be favoured? The difference is cattle rearing is a private business just like that woman selling tomatoes in the market, just like that your neighbor who bought land or rented a land for his own poultry. If the government can not provide poultry or free shops why should they use our tax to build a settlement for these people? A question for you... Do these people even pay tax?

You shot yourself in the leg!

Can you lawfully trade tomatoe anywhere? No! You have to go to a designated place alllocated by the government.

Hello, If not failure in urban planning, a poultry shouldnt be close to residential area. They should have a designated zone to do such.

Dont Government give out agricultural farms at subsidized rate? Why does the government have shopping malls and market places?

You have no record about them and cant track them. Its after you confine them you can now start talking about taxing them.

You pointed a gun to your head with the point you raised.

+ point- If it might interest you, herdsmen dont buy this idea also as it would be more expensive for them to raise their cattles in a confined environment.

Great news!

This will end the farmers/Herdsmen clashes.
I appreciate the fact that you are doing your job on nairaland well. I hope you get compensated properly.
You stand logic on its head when you advocate herdsmen settlements across the states of the federation as a solution to farmer/herders crisis.
1. Herdsmen need to be settled no doubt. Settle herdsmen in their states of origin if you must intervene in the settlement process.
2. I am a proud pig farmer. The association of pig farmers has thousands of young family people. We do not expect the federal government to take land from the indigenous owners in every state of the federation and allocate to pig farmers. The cow farmers should not be treated as sacred cows except if to justify the allegations of nepotism and territorial expansion/ religious propagation being bandied around.
3. A few of the state governments including Benue State have been proactive. Laws have been passed. We have a Ikyogen cattle ranch in Benue that is in current use. If you advocate one ranch and then a total ban on open grazing, hurrah! You have it already. But No! The Fulani herdsmen cannot mix with others. What they want is to scatter the Fulani herders across the states in pursuance of ill-meaning ulterior motives that you refer to as hate speech when we call it by name .
4. Benue people are still in refugee camps. They can't return to their ancestral homes because those you refer to as criminals are fully armed with guns ensuring citizens do not return. Unfortunately the commander in chief does nothing to flush the criminals out. Maybe because they are Fulani speaking or with cows. The state governor as the CSO is supposed to resettle citizens back to the lands without the Commander in chief of the armed forces asking the security agencies to do what should be done. The governor is a magician I agree that is why God will help him.
5. The hustle is real bro. I salute your courage in towing the path you have chosen. I pray it pays you well. But know for a certainty that even if every state agres to Ruga, Benue will resist it to the last drop of her blood. Many have died already. More are willing to die. TERRITORY IS NOT CEDED OUT WITHOUT A FIGHT. If you will wipe us out to collect our ancestral land, so be it. Help me pass the message to those who sponsor you
