Adventures Of A UK Bound Nurse by crushsugar: 9:14am On Jun 27, 2019
It took me a while but I'm finally here. I want to share my experiences because I feel many persons would benefit from it.
I'm going to be sharing about my journey so far.
I only ask that questions should come in an orderly manner, that means we would take questions at different intervals.
Ready?!

The question is why would I leave in the first place?
Simple answer is I was tired. Tired of the structure, staffing, poor opportunities, I felt stuck and just wanted more.
I wanted to see what's going on out there. I wanted to be part of a standard setting and reach for my dreams which seems impossible for me or would have taken so much time. This wasn't about money. It's about fulfilment.
So, my dream of working abroad started about 2 years after school of nursing. I was working but not happy, after going for post basic program, I still felt stuck somewhere even with a public service job. With all the experiences I don't want to bore is with, I finally made up my mind in October 2018.
Booked IELTS UKVI, in January and did the test March 1st. It came out well.
Then I searched for a potential employer, did the interview and was offered appointment.
So, paper work began.

Currently at Nnamdi Azikiwe airport. Am I excited?
No words can explain the way I feel right now.
I would miss my family but I will be fine.

Good luck, go pursue your dreams, life is too short to be trapped in a dead zone, as a nurse practicing in the western world, you will be fine, yes you will miss your family but it is better to be in Jupiter and be able to support your family / loved ones than to remain at the bottom of the lagoon suffering without been able to support your family, it is a good decision, you will be fine on arrival in England grin

I am alone right now.
They wouldn't allow family go in with me.
So, I'm waiting to check in, and I'll go out again to spend the little time I have.

I think we can ask questions now.
Or add contributions.
Would be boarding soon.
I already received a video from my new wards welcoming me in advance.
Isn't that interesting?
They have been exciting and passionate about it. I think I would love it there, cos they already have done so much to make me relaxed. I am still anxious though mixed with expectations and excitement.

I'm sorry I have not been able to send pictures.
As soon as I boarded, network just turned something else.
I wasn't able to connect to WiFi till few minutes ago after crying and begging God to help me.
I thought I used to be strong, big lie.
Just wanted to talk to my family.
It was such a long 7hrs flight to Dubai.
I pray my phone and or the wifi respect themselves from now on.
Pictures coming

I chose Emirates airlines.
Even if they asked me to land very early, I couldn't trade my comfort for anything, so I chose this because of their track record of excellence and the price is still moderate.
I didn't regret my decision with the hospitality I experienced.
Food was good too.
I know I ate rice and chicken stew, bread and butter, cheese cake, salad and a few things I can't name.
Plus juice... Ehnehn.... Biscuit and tea to restore my balance.

View from inside.
Did I tell you that this is my first time ever on a plane?
I chose the window seat online cos I didn't want to miss out on the view

My row was to take 3persons but I was the only one who boarded, so I enjoyed the space by stretching my legs to sleep as little as I could

Small gist.
Imagine they had to call the attention of someone to cross check my passport and visa again.
Annoying I must say.
