Covenant University has finally broken the record of the British Times Higher Education by being the first University in West Africa to feature in the Under 50 ranking as revealed in the THE Young Universities Summit in University of Surrey, UK.

The University also broke into this ranking before any other universities in N/Africa, East Africa and Central Africa. Covenant was also rated higher than Coventry University which is much older by the British ranker.

The ranking which is specially set aside to celebrate Fast Rising Universities across the world, which have been identified as potential big rivals to age long universities.

Recall that in 2012 Bishop Oyedepo declared Vision 10:2022 which mandated Covenant University to be listed amongst the top 10 leading institution in the World. Apart from excess funding push, the University management has defined the Vision set by Oyedepo to mean Covenant must advance itself to the top 10 ranking of any globally relevant ranking. This has pushed the University to rethink its entire higher education strategy by benchmarking with other fast rising stars like POSTECH, South Korea and Maastricht, Netherlands. According to Elsevier's SCOPUS Covenant has had 1000+% upsurge in her research effortsince the Vision was Unveiled in 2012. The University has also spent an excess of $20 million in improving its research facilities.

It can only be God.

That's the standard

Congratulations for making it into the world young university ranking as one of the 200 universities. Hoping to see you in the main ranking of the world's 200 universities, I hope our public universities are taking some cue.
