It occurred during the 50th minute of the African Cup of Nations match between Zimbabwe and Uganda, leaving fans shocked.

Zimbabwe’s Knowledge Musona was played through straight on goal and had an empty net to fire in to.

But he scuffed his shot and instead smashed the ball against the cross bar in outrageous scenes.

No open goal miss can compete with Aiyegbeni's. The pass was free of any rebound whatsoever on a well cultivated pitch with the keeper away from from goal and few metres between the keeper and crossbar. Yakubu now played the ball in between the little space between the keeper and the crossbar over the bar. That for me is the most unforgivable miss ever
