Gusau – Rabiu Zuru, national president of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), said on Tuesday that the Fulani people had been pushed to the wall and that was why killings and kidnapping had remained pervasive in Zamfara State.

Addressing the state governor and stakeholders at a town hall meeting in Gusau, the state capital, the Fulani leader maintained that the Hausa community had offended the Fulani people beyond forgiveness.

According to him, the Hausa people would sell portions of lands to the Fulani people only to sell the land again to Hausa people thinking that the Fulani people are fools.

He said even if the Fulani people came back to claim the lands they bought, they would be asked to pay more before they could claim the lands.

The Fulani leader maintained that the Hausa people usually killed their people and stole their animals, insisting that attacks by the Fulani were reprisals.

“These are some of the main reasons why the Fulani people picked offence against the Hausa people,” he revealed.

Responding, the chairman, Zamfara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Attahiru Mohammed Ahmed, blamed the Yansakai group for killing innocent citizens, especially the Fulani people in the state.

According to him, the Yansakai group would just enter the market and start killing the Fulani people without reason.

The Emir equally blamed security operatives for arresting and killing innocent citizens of the state, saying it was not fair to blame insecurity in the state on the Fulani people only.

The Fulani leader said if the state government could stop the Hausa people from killing, harassing, and stealing the animals of Fulani people, the recurring killings and kidnappings would end in the state.

In his own reaction, the state governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, assured that his government would construct roads, hospitals, markets, grazing land, etc so that they could remain stationed in one place.

According to the governor, the state government would set up a high powered committee to find out how best to end the mayhem.

He gave the Fulani leaders a grace of one month to settle with their young ones who, he said, were responsible for the terror attacks and kidnappings in the state.

Our correspondent reports that immediately after the meeting, the whole Fulani people entered into a closed door session but the outcome was not yet known as at press time

Buhari has given so much power to this group up to a point that they will come out and boost of how killing will not stop.
To add insult to injury the Emir is also in support of them.
If i may ask what happen to them reporting to law enforcement agencies and allowing them do their work?
Oh! Fulanis are ontop so nothing can touch them.
I support Biafra wholeheartedly for Southeast, Niger Delta for Southsouth; we shld leave this LUGGARD'S CONGLOMERATE.

Land grabbers!
Are they natives of zamfara?

They are not Nigerians.

It's the north that enabled them because of religion.

They are not religious but use it as a tool.
They want a place to settle and call home.
Nigeria seems ok and vast for them but their mistake is that the south is smarter and wiser than they are.

Southerners don't like bloodshed but When push come to shove they will run.

Thank goodness Buhari was made president so we see their true colour. Now, all man eye don red

I get that part. But I used to think Hausa and Fulani are one and the same and would never hurt each other. But it appears now that even the Hausas are getting fed up with the antics and notoriety of their co-joined twins. Perhaps, the hostility from Hausa is a contributory factor for the unusually large Southerly migration and the attendant increase in Fulani herdsmen violence.

Something has snapped! We must be all be very afraid now!

Even those who are been killed are aware of their killers and sponsporers.. The fear of speaking up is making the situations more critical.

Politicians ( Both Apc and Pdp), village heads/leaders and military are cashing out from the conflicts..

Still all blames goes to Fg

Confusion in the enemy camp is like the hausas are now beginning to get wiser to liberate themselves from the fulani domination of their lands.

That's sad. Fulani herdsmen are now a danger to food security. If farmers stay away from farms, it means we must now eat only cow meat, but no food! How sustainable is this?
