I hope the governor after accessing that collapsed bridge with other neglected projects already bringing in the equipment to rebuild them.

Too much showcasing.

ImoPatriot:
The Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, CON, was at the Orashi/Mgbe-Umuchima Road, today to have an on the spot assessment of the situation at the Orashi Bridge axis which has collapsed completely.

The road serves as a major link road between Imo State and Anambra State, linking Ideato Nation and other parts of Orlu Zone.

According to the traditional ruler who spoke during the visit, HRH Eze G. Isiala, the Chairman of Ideato South Council of Traditional Rulers, “It is unbelievable that a structure like this could have been built without reinforcements. Therefore we solicit for your assistance.”

The Governor promised to get the ministry of works to take proper assessment of the place, while seeking the support of the federal government to ensure that immediate attention is given to the road.
propagandist, this is an ecological problem which is equally happening in Lagos, Edo, Abia, Bauchi, Anambra and Rivers. During Rochas administration something similar to this happened on the same road but Rochas did not put the blame on Ohakim but rather saw it as an opportunity for him to dualize the road.

Soon you will call it a substandard road, you are seeing the level of the chippings under the thick coaltar. The erosion site that was corrected by the federal government through NDDC between Obibi Ochasi and Ihitte-nasa communities came back and cut off the road linking the two communities and no one blamed the federal government. Last two years a road leading to Usman Danfodiyo University Sokoto containing up to five bridges was cut into two by flood and nobody blamed the federal or state government. Why must all blame in Imo state be put on Rochas even when he has left office? From all indications, Ihedioha does not have plan for imo state.

Please rational and unbaised minds check the quality of the road by Nigerian standard even as it is cut-off by flood and tell me why Ihedioha should not rebuild this road without going to the media. This thing is getting too much. He has not paid workers oo. They are only enjoying the one Rochas paid them before leaving office i.e May salary.

So they are seeking the support of the federal government while Rochas dualized the road as we can see without the support of anyone.

the ecological problem isn't solved by dualizing the road lol. This is the level of thinking that's killing people. The ecological problem is solved by planting more trees. Forest soil is held together by the roots of the trees in the soil. Cutting them excessively creates erosion.

Does the government respond to an ecological problem with an ecological solution?: No
Does it import fake trees from China?: yes
Will the useless dualized road fall apart with every rain because the actual issue isn't addressed: absolutely.

ARE IMO PEOPLE/TAX PAYERS NOT GOING TO BE FURTHER FLEECED DUE TO CLANNISH MOTIVATIONS OVER A SITE FOR THEIR STATE UNIVERSITY?

PROFESSOR UKACHUKWU AWUZIE, FORMER VC, IMO STATE UNIVERSITY (IMSU), AND OTHERS WHOSE VIEWS ARE MORE OR LESS KNOWN ON PERMANENT LOCATION FOR IMSU, HAVE BEEN ASKED BY GOVERNOR EMEKA IHEDIOHA TO LOOK INTO OWNERSHIP OF EASTERN PALM UNIVERSITY, OGBOKO IN IDEATO SOUTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF IMO STATE, AS WELL AS THE STATUS OF OTHER TERTIARY EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS HURRIEDLY ESTABLISHED BY FORMER GOVERNOR OKOROCHA DURING HIS LAST DAYS IN OFFICE.

IN 2012, WHEN IMSG STARTED TO BUILD A PERMANENT SITE IN OGBOKO FOR IMSU, PROFESSOR UKACHUKWU AWUZIE, THEN VC OF IMSU, INSISTED IN AN INTERVIEW WITH DAILY TRUST NEWSPAPER THAT IMSU WOULD NOT MOVE FROM OWERRI.

IS IHEDIOHA'S COMMITTEE NOT A KANGAROO TYPE?

BEFORE THE COMMITTEE WAS SET UP BY IHEDIOHA, HAD THE OUTCOME OF THE COMMITEE'S FINDINGS NOT ALREADY WRITTEN TO BE LIKE:

(1) EASTERN PALM UNIVERSITY IS NOT 100% PROPERTY OF IMO STATE GOVERNMENT?
THEREFORE, THE OWNER SHALL REIMBURSE THE STATE GOVERNMENT ITS 10% SHARES?

(2) EASTERN PALM UNIVERSITY IS NOT PART OF IMSU?

IMSU NOT YET HAVING STRUCTURES BEFITTING FOR A UNIVERSITY MORE THAN 20 YEARS OLD, IS ANOTHER VICTIM OF CLANNISH POLITICS IN IMO STATE.

AS GOVERNOR, ROCHAS OKOROCHA, OR HIS ASSOCIATE, IS NOT ALLOWED BY LAW TO BE PART OWNERS OF EASTERN PALM UNIVERSITY.

HOW ANYONE CAN STILL DEFEND HAVING ALL PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES IN IMO STATE TO BE LOCATED IN OWERRI IS UNIMAGINABLE.

BOTTOM LINE: EASTERN PALM UNIVERSITY IS 100% PROPERTY OF IMO STATE GOVERNMENT.
GOVERNMENT CAN EVEN MAKE IT THE SECOND PUBLIC STATE UNIVERSITY IF IT CAN.

MORE INFO ON EASTERN PALM UNIVERSITY, OGBOKO, IMO STATE.

One major controversial quality of Owelle Rochas Okorocha is the fact that he likes to gamble with almost everything. In 2011 when he won the Imo State gubernatorial election, he had intended to run for Senate.

But he gambled with the idea of contesting for Governorship and succeeded when he lost out to former Governor Achike Udenwa in the tussle for Senate ticket. Judging from the maverick style with which he governed the State, it became very clear that Okorocha was also gambling with governance and the future of Imo people. All his gambling streak worked until he gambled with the idea of foisting his son-in-law Uche Nwosu on Imolites as his successor; that one failed woefully.

Now another area where Okorocha extended his weird passion for gambling was the idea of the ownership of Eastern Palm University. Eastern Palm University (EPU) was registered with the Nigeria Universities Commission (NUC) in 2016 as a State University; and the record is there till date.

The establishment of the University was also backed by Law No. 13 enacted by the State House of Assembly. A site was developed in Ogboko Ideato with government funds purportedly for the new University. Okorocha’s initial plan, unknown to many was to move Imo State University (IMSU) to the new site and then bring EPU to where IMSU is today.

However, when the ex-governor realised that Owerri people were poised to resist his plan to move IMSU away from the area, he decided to change plan. He got the rubber-stamp House of Assembly to tinker with the Law establishing the EPU in order to create a false impression that the institution was established under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) between his proxy and the State.

In furtherance of this evil plot and in order to keep Imolites from knowing what he did, he appointed as Vice Chancellor of EPU, one Prof Dafe Otibo who retired as a lecturer in University of Lagos (Unilag),a non Imo indigene from Edo State.

He also appointed as Registrar, another non-indigene from Abia State and his wife’s brother, Mr. Earnest Onuoha. Despite the fact the man had been two-time Registrar in Abia State University (ABSU) before then.

The only reason the former Governor could give such plum positions to retired non indigenes in a State that has the highest number of professors and educated persons in the Country, is just for him to cover up his evil deeds. The greedy ex-governor had intended to convert the EPU to his own had his son-in-law won the guber elections. Unfortunately, he failed.

Now that God has quashed all the evil plans of Okorocha to acquire EPU for himself and family, it is now incumbent on the government of Rt.Hon Emeka Ihedioha to recover the institution at all cost. EPU is the only quality project executed by Okorocha because he had intended to acquire it.

The new Government should jettison any fake MoU purportedly executed between the State and some “private investors” who obviously are proxies to Okorocha. The Law establishing EPU did not create room for such MoU and the License/letter of registration issued to the State by NUC clearly states that EPU is a wholly State owned University.

So it is about time for the State government to use security agencies to take over EPU, dissolve the Council and Management set up by Okorocha and restore the institution to the people of Imo State who are the rightful owners.

whenever I read your comment I can categorically detect your mission. Why are you bringing the trees issue in Owerri to mgbee road? Since Rochas failed to solve the problem perpetually, what stops the present government from bringing in the solution you stated here. Let him start planting the trees immediately without bringing every issue to media for crying out loud. The similar issues is currently being faced in Lagos, Edo, Delta, Anambra and Bauchi. And none of these people are blaming the former governors for not asking God to stop this ecological problem.

Ecological problems are inevitable. We are yet to see the one Ihedioha will face tomorrow and how he will handle it. There are many erosion site in Imo state, let him go and inspect them and stop inspecting the only ones that affect Rochas' road.

I have confirmed from a reliable source in Imo state that Ihedioha has not done anything even to pay salaries.

You can just imagine? Instead of Ihedioha to kick start new projects, he has no choice than to revisit the substandard projects of his predecessor. Okorocha must account for the money he wasted on all these substandard projects he built.

Chino stop fooling around. Ihedioha is looking for reasons to squander money instead of facing governance. That secretariat was built by Udenwa but was renovated by Rochas around 2011 and was also being renovated again but not completed before handover. A Governors duty is not searching for reasons to squander money by deceiving the gullible. The photos shown here do not in any way support the exaggerated claims.

If the traveller in @Afam4ever's post had diverted into the inner streets of Orlu urban and seen scores of rotten and dilapidated streets where human beings live on, he would have spit on govt in Imo state.

Okorocha even tried and reconstructed more than 100 kilometers of the streets of Owerri in eight years.
