I bought a hard drive(2TB) from Jumia, it was international shipping so no refunds but being that it's a Nigeria company i trusted them to deliver with no problems whatsoever, normal i use Aliexpress to buy whatever i want online a nd they have never failed me, but for this hard drive i said lemme give jumia a chance being that it's a home base company.

So i logged into my account and ordered for this item and since it was shipped overseas they didn't allow pay on delivery so i made all the payments online. The item was supposed to take 3weeks to get to me but it took more than a month! And when it finally got to me the place they shipped it to was far from my location, normally if i ship from Aliexpress they bring it directly to me cause i use a university address close to me and this is a company that is not even based here! But jumia decided to ship to a location that's far away from my location. Ok no qualms i went to collect the hard drive and since there was no system around i couldn't test it. I had to go back home to test it.

When i plugged the hard drive to my system it was not detecting it at all so i plugged it into a linux system it showed but it couldn't Mount so i tried formating it but it kept showing this drive is read only bla bla bla.....i was confused so i took it to those guys that do repair stuff like this, mind you the hard drive i ordered from Jumia was 2TB Wd drive but when they open the WD case enclosing the hard drive they saw a sea Gate drive with a capacity of 128Gb and basically the drive was dead! I have just wasted my hard earned money on Jumia! No problem sha i am never in my life going to shop there again and i would urge you all to use Ebay, Amazon or even Aliexpress for your shipping at least that way you wouldn't be cheated.

Forget oversea.Na computer village jumia buy your hard drive come package am with their branded nylon.You should have returned it back since what you requested for is not what you got.

Why don't you lodge a complaint to jumia tagging the the vendor or however it works in there?

Next time trying making a video of you unboxing the package and testing it. Might be stressful but worth it for high value products.

amazon also sell fake products now.since.most of amazon.products are dropshipped from china.and mostly fake. aliexpress is world fake capital . next time when buying on jumia buy from local vendor so that you can return.within seven days if it.doesnt work. do not buy using.international shipping coz they use that to dropship poor quality junks from china at ridiculous cheap rate .nowadays nearly everything from china are fake

The safest thing to buy online in Nigeria is recharge card. You can be debited and still not receive the airtime you paid for, but it's still the safest.

I experience same thing from them the same international shipping no refund ,no return policy.......I order 3 in 1 long sleeve from them based on what I saw on their site they brought a totally worthless different sleeve for me with a small size that money was just wasted

Personally, I take most this kind stories written online without RECEIPTS like a pinch of salt. You come online write a long essay about the late delivery date and defective product without basically providing any form proof that you even brought the product from them.

U ar nt telling us the full story.
1. U decide ur delivery location when u order on jumia, either u select pickup nd it will give u a list of available locations in ur state/area, or u select delivery to ur preferred location. I guess u made a mistake of not doing the right thing.
2. When u connected it nd it wasn't working, why didnt u cal jumia? For global shipment, last time i checked, refund is available for defective/ wrong items.
3. U made a mistake trying to repair it either by ur self or proxy.
U need to accept dis aiint entirely jumia's fault.

And yet there are those consumer protection right people and standard organization agency officials who don't do sh!t, not to talk of millions of consumers who gets ripped off by on daily basis without realizing it and buyers get cheated daily from buying fake drugs, chargers, earpiece, phones and other electronic and home appliances. The country itself is a big scam.

I've once purchased (at a very popular, one of the very first outlet who are reputable for mainly mobile phones, phone accessories and later on laptops sales) a very fake core i7 HP laptop (china board) with the believe I'm getting an original as it should be, saddest thing is it was bought with the same amount an original was sold for. Millions get ripped off like that in this helluva country on a daily basis. Who's to fight for their right to be protected from buying inferior products the helluva country is flooded with.

There's just too many holes in the story.

Jumia is a platform for selling and any body could sell there. You have good and defective products there just like any market place. You story sounds very childish cos u didn't make any complain to jumia and u probably distroyed the pack while opening. I buy goods from jumia every day& the ones that are defective I package the way it came and return immediately without trying to repair including the international ones. Best place ever to shop online .Ask questions next time

First of all, I want to apologize on behalf of Jumia for such an experience you had and would love to offer you an apology voucher but you said you will never shop with Jumia again.

Secondly, Jumia is just an online shop that owns no property, item, goods or whatever you can call them. Jumia just get orders from you, source for these items from vendors (local and international) and bring the items to you.

Thirdly, Jumia has return policy where you can return defective items within 7 days from the day of delivery. If you had called to complain to Jumia, a return will be initiated, a complete refund will be made to you and there won't be need for this act.

In addition, it is not fair to seek justice in an unjust way, that is inhumane, tit for tat is a rough play. Once again, sorry for the experience, give Jumia one more try.

Lol, i did make a complaint to jumia but got so angry i deleted everything. Anyways i have learned my lessons. For those of you saying i was lying why would i lie because of how much?
