Executing not hard. Im guessing the hold up is prisoners appeals and maybe the state not signing death warrant. The reason Nigerian prisons are congested is because most prisoners are released on bail. The vast majority are awaiting trial immates. The said to be 70% of prison population.

They know these kidnapping will affect them directly or indirectly.

Death sentence for kidnapping is too harsh. A prison sentence of between four and fourteen years is appropriate.

A death sentence gives no incentive for the kidnapper to keep the victim alive.

I totally support the government of Taraba State on this one. Other States should do the same. What annoys me about kidnappers is that the politicians stealing our collective wealth are not being kidnapped. It is innocent and struggling Nigerians that are suffering in their hands.

Nobody is spared from kidnappers. Only the top political office holders & military commanders with heavily armed security personnels are unlikely to be kidnapped. However, the relatives of some of them are still vulnerable to the security challenge.

Sin and crime are two different things. All crimes are sin but not all sins are crime. Kidnapping is a crime and a kidnapper is almost certainly a rapist and murderer. Such people are contaminants in a society and should be eliminated as soon as possible.
