Press Releases Fashola, Agric Minister Commission 20,000 Metric Tonnes Imota Rice Mill …Governor charges Youths to take up challenge to work on state government farms May 15, 2012 - Lagos State Governor Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN) in company of the Minister of State for Agriculture, Mallam Bukar Tijani on Tuesday handed over the 20,000 metric tonnes Imota Rice Processing factory, with the Governor charging youths to roll up their sleeves to work on the farms being created by the Government. Governor Fashola who spoke at the processing factory in Imota before he embarked upon a guided inspection of the rice factory said the time of miscreancy by some youths in Lagos State is over. "The time for wealth without work is over. You must all understand that no nation prospers if it seeks wealth without work. This is one of the places where we can create wealth if we go back to the land and farm".

It was actually started by Fashola, but Ambode scaled it up while Sanwo Olu is making sure it's completed this year.

Continuity at it's best, only in Lagos state.

The Lagos State Government said it would launch its new clean energy programme, tagged ‘Eko Gas’, aimed at encouraging utilisation of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the state.

The Commissioner of Energy and Mineral Resources, Taofeeq Ajibade Tijani, who disclosed this said the programme is expected to convert about one million people to using LPG, otherwise known as cooking gas in the next five years. Ajibade said the scheme would be officially launched by Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, who has made commitment to create incentives for prospective consumers of gas.

According to him, “The state is more focused on promoting greater use of cooking gas in Nigeria by focusing on convenience, cost and safety through excellent gas supply services and development of innovative gas products.”

He said that the essence of the project was to ensure that cooking gas was brought to the door step of all residents of Lagos, especially the low income group, at affordable prices. The project tagged ‘Eko Gas’ would be targeted at the low income group that relies on kerosene because of the erroneous impression that LPG is more expensive.

“The Lagos State Government plans to increase the use of cooking gas among a significant proportion of the populace within the next five years,” he said.

On safety concerns that are raised frequently by potential users of cooking gas, Tijani stated that the product was designed and fabricated with distinguishing qualities such as safety, affordability, portability and environmental friendliness. According to him, about 20 per cent of the cost of cylinder would be eased by the government, in other to encourage Lagosians to the use LPG.

The Eko Gas Plc is not about maintenance.
It is about stealing and looting for the grandmaster of corruption in Bourdillon.

How much is Kogi's budget compared to Lagos?
What has Lagos achieved with its mega trillions in budget since 1999?

So many incomplete and abandoned project in lagos, like seriously I never know there is a rice mill under construction in Ikorodu before.

It was NEVER abandoned (see linked story below)...
But is part of the ongoing Imota Light Industrial Park.

In fact what the LASG did was to UPSCALE its planned capacity first from 2.5 metric tons to 16 metric tons per hour in 2017, and finally (last year 2018) further doubled the planned capacity to 32 metric tons per hour, making it the largest rice mill in Nigeria. Eko oni baje!
