You talking like a non Nigerian who doesn't know how things works in this country, thing is Nigerian Govt have never listen to its people, in whatever situation except there's some foreign intervention from there ogas, US, UK, EU, in decision, policy making and every other way, trust me some cabals have invested already and its business for them, they have proposed, planned, implemented among there selves before bring it to the public, instead of suspending, they'd rather change the name and Nigerians will be fooled applaud and everyone will move on!

Cheap and normal? In US and UK? Hmmm. Baba calm down.
Yes the dude is right, these things are normal condos in cities like Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong I have been to. Talk less of UK and US.

Take for example Manhattan in New York, is not for a poor man. That's where billionaires and multimillionaires reside. The luxury there is high class, top notch, where apartments goes for millions of dollars.

I don't need to think to answer your question. I have been shouting it at every platform. Let everyone who rears cattle buy land and ranch his cattle. What is hard about that. Do you see any other profession killing people to use their land for their personal business?
My late grandfather had cattle. They were in a ranch on his land as far back as 70s. Why a tribe in this present age can't adopt a method already used in my village in the 70s is mischevious.
I will like you to reason without tribal bigotry and hatred for once.
They can also rear the cattle in the vast northern lands, transport to any part of the nation to sell them and go back. That's how other farmers of various livestock trade theirs.
They can also convert the entire Zambiza forest into the largest grazing reserve in Africa to house all the cattle in Nigeria in an open grazing arrangement.

I can give you more efficient methods as practiced in civilized worlds but they will be too complicated for you to understand and too far fetched for this govt to implement.

You point is not feasible. You never put health, safety and logistices into consideraton. This is not Europe or America. I gave you enough time to look into all this factor before you come up with a point. Now you talking about rearing cattles 6000km away and transporting its product down to were the consumers are.

Sir, Your point is void and not logical with regards to Nigeria.

actually places like this in the UK, USA, etc are considered luxurious places and real estate is expensive there. why do overseas celebs buy houses worth millions of dollars in those places, only the super rich can afford those kind of places there too. so it's not odd that to live there is considered to be a luxury and expensive in Nigeria.

do you know how much was invested in that place? you don't know what is to be constructed there, and places that are developed by a group of people like this one are usually super expensive to live in. those condos you talked about are lived in by big moneymakers in those places (Manhattan for example)

Is this a govt project?
tillaman:
my point exactly bro!! My take is all these unnecessary islands would eventually cause havoc someway somehow and only the less privileged/destitute will suffer for it, this same Lagos state has lots of these artificial islands abandoned like periwinkle island and so on all these projects are unnecessary if an average family can’t afford to live there so why would the government keep looking out for the Elites ignoring the destitutes and the struggling man! Most major roads on the mainland are flooded but they would turn a blind eye to that until they are being called out or it claims lives and destroy properties I hope we get to the time when an average citizen can afford and maintain a car which is a necessity!!

i cant say for Eko Atlantic but I know Fashola started the periwinkle island and a host of others forget it being government project or not at least they allowed it so either ways they are well involved, if there are private investors then the government is in bed with them, that’s real talk

Normal where?

Can a regular guy in Brooklyn afford a Manhattan apartment?

Are the infrastructures in Banana Island or Eko Atlantic up to quality of normal houses in the UK or US?? They are just over priced trash. A close relation of mine has a property in Banana island, there is nothing special about that place just over priced real estate the elites live to trip there ego
Banana Island is similar to the worst neighbourhood in an North American or European city

That is why Tiefnubu needs Bullion vans to cart from Lagos treasury and be the tax collector through Alpha Beta. It cost a lot of money to build Eko Atlantic.

Normal where? You obviously have never lived in USA or UK. This kind of property is for elites anywhere in the world.
Hogwash, i watched a guy do a review of some of the apartments there, alot of Americans testified that it's too expensive and it's below par. What is going on in eko Atlantic City is not world class, it's just average but it's spectacular to the average Nigerian like me, that's his point. I don't see special about banana island by world standard, if you ask people they will they will say it's for the big wigs in Naija...
I agree, you ask again they say they have good roads, electricity, security and water. I will be like so basic amenities are now being celebrated as big man thing? We must learn to rise above mediocrity. It's not out fault, I blame every Nigerian above 60 years of age for the mess they created

Big lie. An average American cannot afford to live in Manhattan. To an extent you are right but not in this case. Neighborhood with that kind of planning and luxury is not for the average Joe no matter the country its located in.

100...not until they travel outside the country they realise even the so called poor neighbourhood have the basic amenities that exist in Banana Island. Nigeria's fantastically corrupt leaders have reduced the population to penury without any basic amenities.

You are beyond ignorant, there is nothing special about Banana Island or Eko Atlantic. Eko Atlantic when completed will be at par with with any city in South Africa like Cape Town,Durban,Port Elizabeth or Pretoria.

The average Nigeria doesn't know how bad they have it-how their leaders from the pit of hell have destroyed the country.

Well said and I think that's why the handlers of this project are doing all they could to make sure they curtail this, for example they are working on the Marina axis of this place to channel water to the lagoon without the overflow reverting back also, I heard they are building a massive Great Wall of Lagos... This is the rocks and massive stones used to guard against the water from the sea... Next week, we will speak more on that if we have more time.
they can try been smart but can't beat nature.. remember the tsunami that happened in the Pacific ocean in december 2006..coastline can't be barricaded when a magnitude underwater earthquake like the ones that happened then came knocking... they can live it for now but the way at which the glacial in Antarctic are melting. the rise in ocean volume can't be quantified.. lets wait and see...but nobody can cheat nature..
Re: Eko Atlantic: A Look Nigeria's Most Expensive Place To Live by DedeNkem:
Nothing should make you think that place worths its status of being expensive.

Don't live close to a sea or river! Global warming is real and getting worse by the day because the sea/ocean is claiming more lands due to the melting of the sea/ocean ice!
