Brazil defeated Peru by 3 goals to 1 to claim the trophy on home turf at the Maracana stadium

The Selecao were crowned kings of South America for the first time since 2007 with victory over Peru, in a game where Jesus took centre-stage after receiving a red card

Tite's men beat their final opponents 5-0 during the group stage but were under pressure when Peru skipper Paolo Guerrero cancelled out Everton 's opener with a 44th-minute penalty.

Manchester City forward Jesus set up Everton to volley in the opener before scoring the decisive second.

Paolo Guerrero had briefly given Peru hope when he equalised from the penalty spot minutes before Jesus struck.

Jesus was shown a second yellow with 20 minutes left but Richarlison's late penalty sealed the win.

It is the ninth time Brazil have won the Copa America and is their first tournament success since winning a gold medal at the 2016 Olympics.

Congrats to Brazil!

Definitely the best team of the tournament. No Neymar throughout the whole tournament but they still played well and dominated.

In the final they went down a man (harsh red by the ref on G Jesus) while they were up 2-1 but they defended Peru’s attack after that and managed to score a 3rd to seal the win.

That is how you get it done, unlike a certain “super star goat” who was busy blaming the football pitch, blaming the refs ... and in the end chopped 3rd place! Maybe he wants Copa to be played in Camp Nou with only his countrymen as referees tongue

Brazil is never a one man team from the beginning of days, They are still a fantastic team without their star man Neymar.

Please don't tell me Arthur Melo still win international trophy before Messi

PSG ready to move on without him
Brazil winning trophy in his absence
Madrid don't hold him to much pedigree
Barcelona prioritising Griezmann over him

Sincerely Neymar should reset his priorities or visit SCOAN

Till this day I don't understand how Brazil fell to Germany at the 2014 world cup...still a mystery going by that margin.

Lack of discipline , preparation and well groomed players.
Germany tactics and strategies , including Guardiola main squad form then.

Na I saw everything as damage control.

Gabriel Jesus didn't deserve a red card. But he was given to prove they can be unfair to Brasil too who Messi has accused the organisers of favouring in the competition and has boldly said Brazil will win the cup. See how smart the organisers were. The waited till 70 minutes when Brazil was leading by 1 goal before sending Jesus away. What happens next? Brazil was later awarded a PK to make it 3-1. They were always going to win it. All that happened was just to prove neutrality and all. But failed on arrival.

It is the hardest to play. No player bagged a hardtrick throughout the tournament. Their golden boot winner scored just 3 goals. Small but tough and competitive. They boast of many nations who have kept producing football talents, world best and best keepers. The 3 greatest player started to ply their soccer trade from those countries and were born there - Pele, maradona and Messi. Let's not mention Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Riqulme, Ronaldo etc..

Honestly, a very fit Neymar would have been a liability to them.

Why can’t you accept that the best team won the tournament. The red card put Brazil in a very tight spot as Peru could have very easily scored. Did you watch the game?
Messi and co were terrible and Messi did his usual thing - blame others. It is the reason why he never wins for country and his gullible fanatics perpetuate his false narrative.
