Buhari's English is discomforting. Nigeria, a country of millions of intellectuals but the poorly or not educated ones emerge as president. How? The huge fraud by northern soldiers who created 20 states in the old northern region but created only 17 states in the old southern regions. The fraudulent political structure gave undue representative advantage to the Buhari clan. Buhari clan uses the advantage to largely determine who becomes Nigeria's present. Buhari-like president emerges. The southern apolitical politicians reduced to nothing by the political structure trudge on with the north, take politics as a job, and no longer ask for political restructuring. Land mass or population is not considered when new political units are created from existing political units on a country formed by diverse political units. There should have been more states in the two southern regions, than in the one northern region. |
