...... Emile Smith Rowe promoted to first team and given the number 32. .... Well, it's looking like no midfield signing this window since Willock, Smith, Niles and maybe Iwobi will all be playing in the middle. Interesting thought. |

solomonbrown64:Bro, I understand they are planning for the long term now, unlike before. But the transfer is just funny. I don't want to watch our clowns defend this season. Those should be offered to any club, even if we have to pay Maybe we can scam maga United to take two or three as bonanza.Meanwhile, I don't want to have any expectations this window. Anything they like, they should do. Apart from United, we are the next club who usually have random names attached to us. In the space of two months, we have gone from Fraser to crassco to Zaha to Malcom, so other people are still there like brahimi. Abeg, I no fit. If they like, they should sign Fookin No Wan from South Korean, it's their problem. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by solomonbrown64: 6:07pm On Jul 09, 2019 |
MrDojo:..... , .......all those Carrasco and Fraser was just agent talk, Zaha has been our number one target this summer and to me he is as good as gone. Malcolm talk is just a tool to make Palace think we are not desperate and give room for Zaha to pressure them to let him go. Ornstein already said the transfer will get ugly and we all know Raul is the master when it comes to such transfer shenanigans. ..... Chelsea has a new coach, Man United are in crisis while we are still stable. if we get Zaha and Tierney, even without selling some of those useless players, we still stand a good chance to get top four. So, I will be really looking forward to this season if we get the players above and I know you will too. ![]() |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Roland17(m): 6:08pm On Jul 09, 2019 |
Considering our financial constraints/ limitations I would rather Emery finds a way to give these promising young guns a chance to play and finish outside the top 4 than play dead weights who are comical at defending with effortless performances that lack inspiration and still finish outside the top 4 and still trophyless. I would like to see Saka and Bielik in the mix, at least for the preseason so we can evaluate them for possible involvement with the first team. Again, folks need to face reality, we are not signing anyone that costs more than 40 million pounds, in fact, the Zaha bid was an obvious waste of time because Palace already told them the bid would be rejected before it was placed considering it was below their valuation. |

Niles,Nwakwali and Beilek also, I believe if those youngsters grow under right tutelage, they can at least be our Eboue,Clichy,Cole, fab,v.p( from reserves) they may not be that great but they at least gave us joy and hope in games. |

solomonbrown64:The bolded is what will frustrate fans the most, we'll be so close again like 1/2 points difference from UCL.. Chelsea and utd may likely struggle again, spurs will struggle also, top4 would look open and possible by week 32. We'll now see the negative effects of not getting Zaha,Tierney, Saliba and Brahimi) and not selling Mustafi,Kolasinac,Jekinson,Chambers,Elneny,Xhaka and either of mhicky and Ozil. |

Fkhalifa:... You sef, at least wait till the end of the transfer window before issuing that your evil prophecy ![]() ....If we had no intention of getting Zaha, we won't have submitted any bid and up till now, we are yet to submit an improved bid, perhaps we are waiting for the nations cup to be over. Zaha's transfer has final day written all over it. .... Emery will surely not go into new the season with the same squad of the previous campaign if he isn't preparing for the sack. He is no fool. ....Sky sports is reporting that Fenebreche are interested in loaning Ozil for next season with an unknown sponsor paying half of his wages. I don't see that happening but one can never know though. So yes, Raul is working. |

Looks like the Saliba deal is going to be wrapped up in the coming days. We are so limited financially that we are making the 27 million pounds in installments He will be loaned back to Saint Etienne for the 2019/2020 season. |

BlueRayDick:Calm down baba,I didn't insult nor meant to attack Ozil,I'm particular about how Arsenal players in Ozil,Auba are soft ( which can look cool and beautiful) in front of goal, Ozil's goal against "ludogoret" is cool See Auba's penalty against spurs, too soft, Against utd soft and cool, So that iwobi's goal( soft, cool and nice) its Ozil and Auba like in nature, maybe that's why iwobi after doing all tough job, gets into the box and he shoots( soft pass) to the goal kepper, its and Arsenal thing I guess, personally, I prefer they go hot and aggressive sometimes. |

iamoyindamola:I've been impressed with the super eagles, We only need an Auba like striker in place of Ighalo, good golie and bad luck will be the only thing stopping us from lifting that trophy. See how Ekong look like Kompany and v.dijk,I've always preferred a defender big, tall, strong and rugged, he puts his head and body in everything.. Arsenal defenders are too indomie like in nature.. Even klopp has Matip. Also Etebo and Ndidi are strong, mobile, hardworking, physical and passionate... They press you, stick legs, put their body on line, energetic and ready to take all pressure you are bringing.. Also, We've got wingers, Musa,Chukwueze, kalu and Simone will torment you all day, they don't look back or sideways, the effect of this is that we win set pieces when fouled, win cards, win corners which led to the goal. Awaziem and Collins were able to concentrate on defending.. Even if we lose any game, I won't be pissed much because of the zeal and effort I see from those lads.. I won't mind Chukwueze also, he can't be more than £25, he will really help our attack |

Roland17 I really want to understand something. I know about the paucity of fund at arsenal and all...Of course it didn't start today, we've been a selling club since moving to emirates with everybody acknowledging the fact that we need to pay back for the cost of erecting the stadium and all. However, one thing I don't understand is how athletico Madrid are able to pay in the region of 100m for that new youngster, pay in the region of 50m for morata etc despite completing their stadium years after Arsenal had completed theirs. Arsenal obviously earns more TV rights than Athletico, Arsenal sell shirts annually more than Athletico and yet Arsenal is stuck with signing Nbodyinho. ![]() |

BlueRayDick:I like your question. I took my time to write this detailed response so please make sure you read all of it. The Athletico you are raving about today learned the harder way on how to become efficient and financially stable/ viable. Let me remind you that in 2000 A. Madrid was relegated and was bankrupt and not viable financially. Between 2010-2017, Athletico has sold some of the best players in the world and that list includes F. Torres, D. Forlan, DeGea, Aguero, D. Costa, R. Falcao, Diego, and the list goes on. The money gotten from the sales was used to stave off debtors who were on them because they were literally bankrupt even after they returned. The group that owned the team came to their senses and realized they needed a very conservative coach. A coach who would use very limited resources to build a competitive side that can play in the champions league, compete for a top 3 position in the LaLiga and win some domestic cups and that was how they stumble on ex-player Diego Simeone. Diego Simeone is as conservative as they come. He is what Wenger was to us and what Poch is to Spuds. Simeone realized he needed to thin his squad by agreeing to sell some of the best talents of the club so they could survive. In the next 3 years, A. Madrid had sold some of the players I listed up there. Simeone started buying unknown teenage players like Saul who left R. Madrid at 16 to join Simeone for 1.5 million, he scouted and did the same thing with Koke for 3.5 million. Do you know how much Saul/Koke cost in today's market if Atletico decides to cash in? We are talking about 70-100 million. He also collected unwanted players like Tiago, the former Chelsea player from Juventus, negotiated with Chelsea to take T. Courtois on loan, same with Filipe who they got from Deportivo for peanuts, sold him to Chelsea for around 15 million which is a lot of money at that time and then got him back from Chelsea for an undisclosed sum which in which may not be more than 7 million. He got Arda Turan for 12 million and sold him to Barcelona for almost 40 million if you add incentives. He turned unknown players like Godin, Miranda into world beaters. In 2014 they got Griezman from Real Sociedad for 24 million, by the end of this summer transfer window he may join Barca for over 100 million. How about Lucas Hernandez? He came through their academy like Saul and Koke and was sold to Bayern who triggered his release clause of almost 90 million even though he was injured. Oblak is their number 1 goalie, he will fetch them close to 50 million when they cash in. You still have young players like Partey, A. Corea, Vietto who are under 25 years. By 2014, A. Madrid won the La-Liga title, made the finals of the UCL in 2014 and 2016 making close to 90 million for each finals appearance and have continued to remain competitive in all competitions while remaining disciplined. Another very important variable is the difference in the economic stability of Spain in comparison to Britain. Spain is recovering from one of the worst recessions ever in Europe, maybe behind that of Greece. This means that Spanish authorities had to make deals with Atletico to cut some of their tax debts during this period and that helped a lot. Followership is a religion in Spain and they are associated with some monarchs and well-connected people outside of their owners who have varying share percentages and are active investors. They moved to a new stadium in 2017 I think and ticket prices got higher, higher revenues, filled stadiums and more importantly, they are strong contenders in every competition and that only means more money through improved sponsorship. The La-Liga has also restructured its TV money considering the increase in viewership and Atletico are getting a huge chunk of that money after R. Madrid and Barcelona. Atletico has one of the best youth academy programs in Europe. They are now churning out good players who can become starters or fetch them money. Their greatest asset is their players. Also, in comparison to most elite teams, Atletico pays some of the lowest wages in Europe and that is a very big way to save funds. Who is the most expensive player we have sold in this era? was anyone worth close to 40 million? We are struggling to shed Chambers, Jenkinson, Mustafi, Ozil, and others. The players that have come through the ranks, can anyone of them fetch us 40 million? We have been out of the UCL for 3 seasons now and have not even one any trophy since our last FA cup. We can not afford to be careless in the transfer market again because money from the UCL (there is a reason they call it the "LUCRATIVE UCL" covered a lot of our errors in the past. |
