President Muhammadu Buhari has cancelled all e-passport printing contracts abroad, saying that it will now be the sole responsibility of the Nigerian Security Printing & Minting Company (NSPMC).


Femi Adesina, special adviser to the president on media and publicity, made this known in a statement released on Thursday.

The Fulani people are also part of Nigeria and because some of the herdsmen are killers dosen’t justify calling all the fulanis criminals.

Truly Nomadic lifestyle of the Fulani herdsmen is obsolete to be honest and there is need for the government to put a stop to that. But you have to understand it’s part of their history that no one can erase, so having it on the passport to as a form of culture is not much of a big deal.

Or what do you think about other cultures represented on the passport? Does that mean we still ride horses in naija coz there are lot of horsemen images on the passport (I don’t really know the tribe name for the people on horses).

Did you say this when N100 note with such inscription made? The problem with illiterate like you is that you hardly verify any news before commenting on it. The Nomadic picture is the same picture in the old International passport and not only do we have Nomadic pictures, we also have other tribes . Im guessing Nigeria might be sued for breach of contract. I'm cool with them producing passports domestically as long they dont start telling us scarcity or some other dumb excuses. Lastly passports should be mailed after payment. They do it UK and US Nigeria shouldn't be exception.

I am still yet to understand the sort of government that is ruling nigerians. God forgive me but i can't wait for all these old people on seat to die and leave for more flexible and younger rulers.

While I commend this development, I'm also worried about our historic level of incompetence. Later they might tell us there isn't enough dollars to import the necessary ink or printers needed to do the job. I just hope and pray this wouldn't cause further delay. As a matter of fact, let me go and renew mine now before this takes effect even though I've got 2 more years before expiration.
