Of course...

There's more waiting time now, not because of more drivers, but because there are less riders. The riders determine whether this business will last or not

Let's not also forget that in transportation, we have peak periods and off peak periods. Not just for uber, but all areas. If you go to most bus stops now, fares have dropped because there are less passengers. Come back by 4pm and the whole thing changes. It's still the same with our job

Any driver that finds himself is VI by 4 to 5pm is likely to get a trip out, unless he limits himself with destinations

To me sha, we should be clamouring for more riders. The more people are aware of the app and it's affordability, the more we have trips. We cannot limit the number of cars that will enter the platform. We cant

How your side Pope? grin

My oga u no go like know wetin deh happen to me, can't complain, yesterday I almost activate war with one rider, today nah rider carry me enter balogun market say make we deh find clothes up and down since 10am, this is d third time I'm doing dis with her, energy drained already, even me get store I pick clothes with pricing, woman, choice and price matter lipsrsealed

In as much as I'll like to agree with you view, riders work with flow of money circulation in the economy, while driver work with positioning due to influx of excess car in the system, but as we have always agree that the system will regulate itself. Let's use raining period for example, surge comes up cos much driver went off and don't like Driving in the rain, soh during such period ride is certain at the expense of your car. Lately I realize it will take luck to breakeven once u mis d mornin train (working class), do few trips during the day and position for close hour.

One tin I observe this Sunday on taxify was surge almost everywhere.

I disagree, Union Bank also did massive sacking last month as well. Do you know the ripple effect of a loss of one job? One job lost is equivalent to four dependents average.
The more the sack the less the money for uber. More danfo will gain, same way mama put will keep making money while Mr Biggs and tantalizers closes shop.

I wouldn't use a bank as a yardstick to measure progress in this job. Even if Union bank folds up, it has nothing to do with uber.

Uber is not as expensive as you see it. It is not expensive. A 3km journey is #500. Carry 3 other person with a trunkload of items, it's still #500. What has any job got to do with that?

I can count how many bankers I carry from Monday to Friday(I mean pickup and drop off points). Students, caterers, teachers, civil servants and a whole lot of others use it. Even Ecobanks retrenchment wouldn't even show in uber's earning sheets. One rider goes, another comes

And saying Tantalizers and Mr Biggs will feel it? I don't think so. All these guys need to do make it as affordable as possible. Gone are the days when we see fast foods as luxury. With #500, you'll eat a plate of rice and chicken in Chicken Republic. With #550, you'll have pizza at Dominos. This is something an unemployed person can afford once in a while

I totally agree with you. No money, no rider...

But times are changing. Night life is springing up in our cities. Gone are the days when you can't move around once it's midnight. In all, there are good days and bad days

And also positioning matters... Not only about location, but also with time. As a driver, you should know when to rest and come back online. Coming online from 5am to 10pm may not guarantee 20k gross... Just know when to move, stay or rest.

And as for that market wahala, the last time I did it was when I carried an Oba in Lagos and his wife(story for another day).

That's my best trip ever on this platform grin

As long as there are riders, it can never be over saturated

Count how many danfos you see on the road. Yet they still make a living from it despite the government buses competing with them

Count the okadas, kekes and the rest...

As long as there are riders, if you like put 500 corollas, it will still contain them all

The period you're going to bed or resting, someone else is trying to get a ride, and someone is going to pick them up

The transport sector is very massive.
This is so true.

What is the online address you used for the DL and how much did you end up spending?

But isn't my case different in the sense that I am still driving the car with the previous owners papers? Will walking into any bank to do my car license make it any easier?

DL address
https://www.nigeriadriverslicence
I did it in Aguda when dey just opened d branch but now I had they have taken it to cele express office.

Banks don't care about the name on d car papers once u give them d old paper or ur plate no and Vin/engine number they will pull it from d database, u can pay for someone.

However if d previous owner stopped renewing d particulars for example 2015, you will have to pay from 2015 till date before you can renew for 2019.

Boss if d car is sound with a good fuel consumption like you say, then making 60k weekly should not b a problem for him with a good positioning and a day off if he like. At least ur 20k is certain and he can use the rest 40k to sought out whatever he have to sought out including taxify money.

jesusson2020 is coming to shed more light to help out, I don't know why he hardly comment on post like this, but he is coming sha.

Thanks bro...he is new in the biz. You know there is always a learning period. He will come around. I have introduced this thread to him

Seems your on Taxify

Well for me this is how i work on uber only

I position at Omole phase1 or berger early in the morning set destination on island

On the island i like positioning at 1004, legali or Adeola

At ikoyi inside awolowo and it environs

At lekki i dont like staying on admiralty because of alot of drivers
I prefer going inside phase 1 or phase2

If i find my self on the mainland this areas are good request

It is asking for test certificate number. Didn't go through driving school though but the site looks legit. Will bookmark for use much later. But what was the total cost?

Addo road is usually a good place for request during early mornings. It was just a bad day

As for Ikoyi, try Dolphin although it's usually flooded. But if you know your way around, you could beat the floods

You'll be fine.. Just make sure you target residential areas at mornings, residential/offices at noon and offices at evenings

if you aren't around offices at evenings, still hang around residential areas. This advice is for workdays oh

You'll be fine

sir you are just beating around the bush, contradicting your earliest statement and also not making any sense at all..
Earlier you said no matter how many cars u put in the market it cannot be saturated abi, now u are saying the market is bad because there are less riders
So automatically you are implying there are less riders and more drivers which contradicts ur earlier statement.
Bottom line is the more cars are pumped into the market, the less request you get, more waiting time, more money/commission for Uber/taxify.
Good for riders, good for Uber/bolt , bad for you tongue

On weekends,

Sats; target residential in the morning till afternoon and event centres, supermarkets, bars & hotels in the evening.

Suns, target residential in the morning, churches around noon and evenings are similar to Sats
