Attempt to Call ordinary Ghana and see how you'll be charged from all the networks. If you take your time to check their international call rates it will shock you. The only cheap places to call from Nigeria or on roaming is US,Canada,China, India and sometimes South Africa.

9mobile tariffs are expensive however madam you should have channel your complain to their customer care via email. I presumed you were on roaming hence the regressive rate. And to 9mobile that has refused to adjust their call and data tariff, bear it mind that you might loose more customers than your competitors. dude.....the only time I had credit deducted fast was when I called the UK . The speed was crazy . I don't think there is a country in the world you can call 5m for 15 k

To make call from Nigeria to Ghana is like throwing your money to the sea!!

She might be roaming her number.

roaming charges are normally very high. I didnt expect that she will be this ignorant. when you are visiting any country and decide to roam ur line you shld worry to know the new call rate/charge.

basically what she should have done is to make data calls like whatapp/skype etc. just look for wifi nau. or buy a local sim card in the country she is in. it would have been like normal for her. But roaming anywhere is not made for people without means. if u think u have means then dont complain

for roaming, some destinations are termed as Premium destinations. their charges are in higher rating zone. the reasons are so many. if u go to a far flung country like Belize (just saying), a country that probably does not have an extensive telecoms infrastructure and depends another major carrier in another country to take their traffic out for them, then charges will probably be x10 for international (roaming into their network with your local number for whatever convenience, will be higher). or maybe same country's local termination rates are very high, what do u expect international calls to cost not to now talk of roaming. Roaming ur line is a status thing most of the times. cos u want people to still see ur local lone displayed

Roaming charges are not entirely controlled by your local network, it is an international thing. they just put a small markup to what they are being charged by their foreign partner. sometimes the call will pass via different jurisdictions with different laws before completion. for a subscriber like chioma, all she cares about is that she is able to speak to the person on the other side.

so her ignorance show well well and on many levels. Maybe she just wanted to show that she is on a cruise somewhere. i dont suppose this is the first time she is noticing a higher charge for roaming

that is called 'Revenue Share Fraud' perpetuated by some geeks/cabals overseas. your local network will only try to block that particular number when u report. They will also see if they can complain to the partner who brought in that call.In most instances it a lost case. International rule is that they must pay the foreigners out of that your N60. they must pay them when it is proven that you made such a call to that number.

some will call u and start calling u sweet names (female voices) and drop the call so fast. Out of curiosity (onyimbo girl dey call u 'darling, hey love, even when u no sabi am) you will decide to call back. That naur biggest mistake. if u check ur balance later ee go don reduce by a large chunk even for 1sec call

How can anyone help you to explain your 15k phone call when we have no idea which part of the middle of the sea you made the call from..

Pay attention to you service plan
Pay attention to where you’re calling from
Pay attention to the location of the person you are calling.
Pay attention to the time of the day and the day of the week the call is made.

Advise for madam Chioma:
Next time you’re on the sea and you’re missing your daughter, all you need to do is simply disable your 9mobile service, connect your phone to the WiFi on the ship and then call your daughter via whatsapp....and all will be fine.

She might have called from the ship as presented, called an international number, roamed the line or some kind of bonus airtime may be what has been used off, if not any of the possible logical reasons then;

Recently, I was charged N3000 for 93 seconds call from my GLO line while roaming, I had to check well... If my eye dey deceive me... See screenshot below.. So instead of coming online to rant, I had to contact customer service to explain why... So make she cool down and do the right thing, instead of acting like MGBEKE wey just travel.. ..

Roaming at sea is via satellite. Hence it cost 15k. Noting new here.
