Hallo House.
Quick question: I've noticed from some transcripts I read that VOs don't generally ask for bank statements and letters of invitation again. How true is that? It's been a long time since i did Visa interview (I've been using dropbox for a long time now). My family and I intend to visit for a week on holiday and then on to another country as well so I'm wondering what kind of documents would be required. My spouse and I both have good jobs at multinationals so we don't intend to jappa there. Lol.
Any advice good advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.

They treat each visa application on case by case bases which means your circumstances might be totally different from another visa applicant. undecided
They hardly check for bank statements however, you can take it along because your case might be different. shocked
Don’t even bother to carrying a letter of invitation because they are defiantly not interested in looking at that. sad sad
An invitation letter does not add any value because it does not even prove your ties to your home country. undecided undecided

Don't just apply on getting to Canada to avoid denied....

Apply when you got a job, give time like 3months and apply, you still need to show a little tie to Canada, remember you still hold a green passport

Thanks to everyone for their responses. I'm grateful

Finally Nigerians just realized this embassy's are on our soil to scam us........... The want us to keep applying and the continue to use our money to develop their land.
Imagine having 1200 applicants interviewed daily. 57000×1200
=68,400,000(sixty eight million four hundred thousand)
Everyday!
Then check it monthly
68,400,000×30
=2,052,000,000 (two billion fifty-two million)
Every month!
That's roughly 6million Dollars monthly
una never sabi anything. How about the Canadian immigration thing that's a coded way of milking people but I know people would say I am mad. Make I sit down look

It is not a scam it is actually a bilateral agreement between the government of Nigerian and USA.
For instance, if a U.S citizen wishes to visit Nigeria that person needs to apply for a Nigerian visa and if the applicant fails to meet the requirements then the applicant will be denied a Nigerian visa without a refund.
Please get it into your head a visa is not a right it is a privilege.
The American embassy don’t force any one to apply for their visas and they made it clear that visa fees are non-returnable so don’t pretend like you are not aware of that.
There is absolutely nothing you can do about the high denial rates because too many Nigerians are involved in violation of the terms of theirs visas by visa overstay.
It is their country and you can’t tell them what to do.

so how many Americans are dying to come to Nigeria. How many of them own Properties. Like some killing themselves to own properties in the U.S and Canada

How? they're developed already? oh or you mean Nigerian not eligible should stop applying for U.S visa? what U.S.A gave us in aid/grant is 3x what they made from the Embassy and I'm very sure that 1/4 of what they made is spent on maintaining their infrastructures in Nigeria in short, they used part of the money in purchasing the new properties in Eko Atlantic so that means the money stays in Nigeria. grin
hmmm really? I don hear

When it comes to U.S tourist visa the consular officer is not concerned about your American fiancée they are actually concerned about you as an individual instead.
What ties do you have to your home country?
How can you convince the consular officer that you will return after your stay?
These are questions you need to ask yourself. shocked
Also note that the U.S tourist visa is really hard to get these days. cry cry

Really hard??..so does it mean.... I can't get it tourist visa.. Even when i have ties at home and everything?
Why does it have to be this difficult... Gosh

Well done great people. As a permanent resident of Canada who is still in Nigeria without any travel history, what are my chances of getting a visa with my father to visit my brother who has a green card and will sponsoring the trip?

My only ties to Nigeria are my spouse and child.

Is it better for me to first travel to Canada as a Permanent Resident and apply for US visa from there? Is there a likelihood of me being given from Canada rather than from Nigeria?

I'd appreciate your responses

As a US permanent resident, I did not need a VISA to visit Canada, All I did was pay about $30 at the airport and an ETS was printed for me.

I guess it will be same thing for a person who has a Canadian permanent residence while visiting US

He needs a visa. Only Canadian passport can get you into US without visa. He's not yet a permanent resident as he hasn't landed. All he has is a visa. No PR card/SIN etc

A friend who has serious travel history history including to the US was recently denied. During her interview she was asked her purpose for travelling and one of the things she mentioned in addition to tourist purpose was seeing her boyfriend. VO asked her to ask him to file for a K1 Visa and refused her a B1/B2. Same person she has been dating for two years and has gone to visit on subsequent trips during which she never stayed for over 3 weeks. Maybe they want us to start lying during interviews. My point is, if you are applying, do so as an individual make sure you have your own money and home ties and omit mentioning Fiancee. That's not you lying, that is you keeping info to yourself.

Greetings everyone,

Would like to give a positive feedback.

So, I submitted my passport for renewal(dropbox) on April 29 and visa was granted July 12. It took a total of 10 weeks

Having read so many recent transcripts about 221g and subsequent denial after birthing in the U.S, I dreaded the trending 221g and Im so happy to have scaled it this time. I got one in 2017, was later refused but re- applied 2 weeks after and got it.

Although, the dropbox has now been cancelled, In my own opinion, I feel you can increase your chances for a successful visa renewal if you also go for vacations in other countries, that way you don't sound like you cannot afford any foreign trips or you are looking to cheat the system.

I paid less than 10k for my last birth. Previous one was even way cheaper and both were through CS. I mean if I want to purchase a good for 100 naira and another person is offering me fifty naira for same quality, why will I for heaven's sake decide to pay 100 naira when I can use the balance for something else. I have never received any public fund or medicaid but I've been able to convince the V.O that I will never in anyway abuse my visa.

I spent 2 months when I went for childbirth in 2017 as stated in my application and have also gone back to the states on 2 other occasions for 2 weeks in 2018 and another again earlier this year.

Also within that 2 year period, I visited the U.k and France.

In all, don't forget the power of prayers. It works wonders as long as you're doing the right thing. Even God wants honesty.

Good luck to others.

Hello room.
For b1 visa! We the embassy call the person someone said is visiting in US during/before an interview before clarifying someone or giving visa?

Sometimes I wonder where people get these strange information. grin grin grin
C.B.P which stands for U.S. Customs and Border Protection only operate on the U.S soil.
When approaching the U.S air space the airline will issue you a declaration card so make sure you fill it correctly as it is a legal document. shocked shocked
You will met the U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the official U.S port of entry (Airport) and they will take your finger print, capture your face on the camera then input your i94 record on their data base. smiley smiley smiley Very simple

Thank you so much. As the days get closer, I'm becoming anxious but it will all go well. Sorry for my lack of information, next time I will research some more.

I will update you how my trip is getting and possibly share photos.

Please don't get anxious over it. smiley

Just relax it is not a big deal. wink A CBP officer will attend to you at the airport and the officer will ask you basic questions about your visit just relax and respond to each question clearly then you will be stamped in.

The CBP officer is a human like you basically doing his/her job so there is absolutely nothing to be nervous about.

If what you told the US VO's was the truth and didn't hide your real intentions of visiting the US then you should not be anxious of facing the US CBP office upon your landing.

Once the US CPB officers scans your passport it will reveal the reasons you gave during the interview to the VO's to visit the US.

This is not unique to Nigerians. I have seen Europeans and Asians denied entry to the US because they intended to come and spend time with boyfriends/girlfriends. That’s a significant tie to the US that makes it difficult to qualify for a non-immigrant visa that is dependent on you showing you have minimal ties that will keep you in the US. The consular officer was being helpful. If you intend to marry the guy then get a K1 visa, it’s much easier and entitles you to stay in the US for 3 months to get married.

Good day everyone, kudos to you people for great job you are doing here. I can see you guys are really making thing easier for applicants.

Please, I will like to clarify these,
1. Is it true that currently they don't request documents for interview again? If they still request, what and what can someone take along as Personal Assistant, first timer traveling with his boss and sponsor by the employee (Boss).
2. What are the likely questions they may ask.
Your quick response will highly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hello house, quick question please.
My interview is for September and Adjustments such as increments in salaries and new letters of appointment were issued at my work place last month.
How do I go about informing the embassy about this change or do I wait & go to my interview with copies of these letters? Does it change anything if I wait? Thank you
