Day 3 at work.
It's been trainings all the way.
From OSCE training to infection, control, IT, library induction
We have our ID's which serves as access to the wards, systems, library, discounts, uniforms have been collected though we are waiting for the newly introduced ones, ward familiarization.
Many more to come as the days go by.
It's been interesting and we are getting busy.

Diploma
Overall band was 7.5
S-8
R-7.5
L-8
W-6.5
You know what you are looking out for, they are almost similar benefits from employers but you can look out for what you are most comfortable with.
There are plenty of agencies and hospital to choose from.

Please permit me to ask a very Dumb question .

How many years is Diploma in Nursing? ...and which school did you do yours?

Is it more than two years?. Thank you.

After IELTS, you have every employer/agents running after you because they are in need of nurses.
It wasn't difficult at all.
It is possible to apply directly to a hospital but by my own observations, it is more stressful.
I applied through an agency.
Please do not pay any agent because they are being paid by the employers for their job.
After my IELTS, I sent my CV to my agency which I consider very professional, judging from the openness on their site.
They set me up for a Skype interview, and I got the job.
After that all the paper work began and I took the CBT exam; UK Nursing competency part 1 exam.
The part 2 which is OSCE would be done in the UK.
I hope I have answered your questions correctly.

Have you gotten your nmc decision letter?
Or can one go to UK before getting decision letter?

I'm still yet to get my decision letter.
Some employers will want you to get your decision letter before coming, others don't mind.

Today was my first day working on the ward.
Basically there are 9 hour and 12 hour shifts. And work time is about 37.5 hours weekly. That's why there are opportunities for second jobs.

My ward experience
Resumption was 7am unlike our conventional 8
Handing over information have already been printed out and handed to all nurses and HCA taking over.
After handing over, I was taken round and put in a team.
Every documentation is on computer.
9am nurse in charge said I should go for break (this is the first time I am hearing break in more than 7yrs of practice), I was like, I don't want, she said I must go and take coffee or something. That's how I went to sit and chat a bit in the room .
I later realized that I have access to bread, tea or coffee and spread during that break.
Of course, another break starts by 12(lunch) after which our training continued.
Do I have any regrets so far?
No
I only miss swallow smiley

Oh nice, I had no idea one can get to resume work without dl. I've always known the process to be ielts->Cbt->DL->COS->Visa. Lucky you though. Best of Luck

Fortunate?

The OP has over 7 years of experience (practice) in her field and went through the laid out process of working as a Nurse in the UK. So highly skilled is the word, not "fortunate"

It took me a while but I'm finally here. I want to share my experiences because I feel many persons would benefit from it.
I'm going to be sharing about my journey so far.
I only ask that questions should come in an orderly manner, that means we would take questions at different intervals.
Ready?!

Hello ma'am,

Can you be able to share the recruitment company you used for the processing, a sample of cv, and any specific band needed for the IELTS?

That notwithstanding, can someone who recently graduated be able to apply for nursing job in the UK.. Had enough clinical experience....

I am asking for a friend who I believe it would be of use to.... has ielts though I don't know the band scores yet.

That's the needed result for nmc

R, L, S, W
7, 7, 7, 6.5

so let the person proceed and register on nmc site and book for CBT exams

Charisjay has responded correctly. If her ielts result is as stated, then she can proceed to the next stage, that is registering on nmc uk website for Cbt eligibility. Anyways some agency can pay for you Cbt if you've gotten ielts already, as long as you interview with them for employment and pass, and you are also willing to stick with with them. As for recruitment agencies, there are a lot.

Some recruitment companies and employers don't mind fresh graduates.

Cv will be shared, just pm. She will have to fashion it accordingly

Thanks.

The 3 agencies that was dropped, only 2 has functional websites... I think the idea of the agency paying for the CBT test would be preferable (if it ends up that she can't afford the fee).

The cv aspect is to enable her to draft adequate one that can enable her attract the agencies with respect to job opportunities. You can redact the cv to protect some information of yours (IE removing some personal informations you wish not to share or changing it).

Thanks once more for the reply. PM sent.
You can drop other agencies name you know of... Just trying to get various options to explore.
