The murder of Funke Olakunrin, daughter of the leader of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti has been the news of the week. Nigerians from different parts have reacted to the killing. While some call it an assination, some call it a random Fulani herdsmen attack while some argued that the killers should not be labelled "Fulani herdsmen" yet since the police have made no statement yet.

It is true that the Herdsmen have reported to be on rampage all over Nigeria recently, from Enugu, to Benue, to Ekiti, to Abia. While some of these these reports are true, some are also false with no evidence which confirm that the atrocities are carried out by Fulani Headsmen. This bring me to this topic, which is a timed bomb waiting to explode. Why criminals disguised as Fulani Herdsmen will now rise in numbers, carry out operations on highway, communities :


1) Since the Herdsmen issue have started, i have not seen or read about the conviction of anyone of them. I have seen few arrest but no conviction, Why?. This is a question everyone need to ask, is the Police, Military and the Judiciary afraid of the Fulani Herdsmen? Is it true that the President is protecting them?. If it continues like this, it will serve as a boost to other criminals to disguise as headsmen, carry out their operation knowing the police is their friend,they can do anything with no confrontation.




2) With the way some people are spreading fake news and report about Herdsmen, tagging Fulani with any criminal activities. This is like a boost for criminals, all they have to do is to disguise as Fulani Headsmen, carry out operations, then what news comes next? "Fulani Herdsmen raids Ijebu Ode Community" " Fulani robs on Aba highway" "Fulani rapes a whole Delta Community". Then the police will start searching for innocent Fulani or Herdsmen and neglect the real criminals.



Using the murder of Funke Olakunrin as a case, the police have not made a statement on the killers, the witnessed also did not mention Fulani Herdsmen as the killer yet but some people have already made the judgment, some even saying some uncouthed words about the whole Fulani tribe. This is uncalled for. Bola Tinubu while reacting, made some statement and i think it is fair, it is the way it is. As confirmed by many people, the Benin-Ore road is said to house different kind of criminals and the killings, kidnapping and illegal cross road did not start today or last week. Let the police and the people concerned do their job. People should not politicize and tribalise this delicate issue.

They should put some police to work by teaching them tracking skills, maybe they hire some experts from abroad to teach them.

So they can really go after this guy in the forest, they know nobody dare to enter the forest after them. Unless you wan die

All those villages by the express road should be investigated, these guys operating on this side of the country are not herdsmen. We don make the thing be like say no other tribe sabi kidnap.

Most kidnapped victims just pay and move on, police sef go dey advice you to pay lol.

Armed robbers have homes they return to everyday. They go out and return home like any regular working person the difference is they go out to rob at night. They do not kidnap, they are after valuables. The only thing similar betqeen them and fulani herdsmen is they are also on highway.

Local Kidnappers operate within urban areas not in bush and they do not spray everywhere with bullets. In fact they employ stealth.

So fulani herdsmen will always stand out.
