On A20, i get battery usage of 6% in 1 hour with data on and reduced screen brightness. 10% in 1 hour under heavy usage and more brightness. What consumes battery most is the screen on

Hey bro I've you updated to the latest software??

Any pro and con so far with the update??

There are many ways to know the specifications. www.gsmarena.com is the website of choice to use. You can as well download CPU Z if you have the phone with you. Glo band 28 is a very unique band, it runs on 700mhz, band 3 runs on 1.800ghz there is a difference between the two bands. Band 28 is newer and has a big advantage over other bigger bands.
I know about band 28, thank you.... It's close to 5g, only few devices had it
Pls can you shed more light on sd450 and sd 636 devices, esp their features

From my experience with A30 which is mine and A50 and A70 which belongs to my 2 friends. Added to the review on YouTube and most phone review sites. I will strongly advice anyone against buying Galaxy A70 for the camera. A30 and A50 are Ok, especially A50. A70 is mainly about, bigger ram size, big screen, super fast charging, more battery. But i was surprised that the camera was dropped to below that of a50 or at parallel in most cases. I think it's a selling Technique by samsung.
And yet I was told by a techy friend using A30 that it's camera is bad, and advice I go for A20 instead. What do you advice?

Ok, so I use the A10 and few days back, i complained about the battery not being that good. The overheating issue was also frustrating. I updated my software, it was still like that, then I cleared my Catche and noticed that the heating had reduced considerably.
Pls how did you clear cache? We want to learn

Let me just throw more light on this for all to comprehend. Using Samsung as A series as case study.

Samsung do manufacture a particular model and version of their devices for different regions of the world. There are ones for South-East Asian region, those for European regions, those for Africa and Middle East Regions, American region and they also normally have the one they term the global version.

Now in terms of major specifications of these different versions meant for different regions, they are always the same, and the only difference sometimes being on the chipset type but which are mostly equivalent in operations. Example.. Samsung might assign a particular device with Snapdragon chips for American region while the one with Exynos equivalent as global version.

But now here is the major reasons and how it pans out on why you see all those different versions for different regions; price variations is also a factor. Same Samsung phone made for Asian region and that for other regions say Africa has different prices, reason be place of production and distribution/transportation logistics. By so, you should not expect the price of a Samsung phone manufacturered in South Korea (Samsung home) and sold in Korea to be the same price in Korea with when the same phone has been brought to Africa.. Offcourse it will certainly be cheaper there than in Africa.

Now, there is this thing that Samsung does, when you go mistakingly buy the version that is not meant for your region, say for example you bought a Samsung A30 version meant for South-East Asia to use in Nigeria. Yes you can use it perfectly in Nigeria but it always regionally locked, so you have to unlock it first before you can start using it in Nigeria or other region that it is not meant for.

Though unlocking it to be suitable for other region can be very easy or daunting as the case may be. You will only need to use a SIM card of that region to remove the regional lock, by using it to make at least 5min of calls then the phone will automatically unlock and you can now go ahead to use any region SIM on it and use as you wish. Alternative unlocking method can be using the IMEI to generate unlock code, but with this you will have to pay through the nose before you can achieve it.

Same way if you get African version, you can go straight up using your SIM, and using your Naija SIM for at least 5min on it meant that you have also automatically unlocked it in case you want to use foreign SIM or travel to the region where it was not originally meant for, since you have unlocked it with your Naija SIM, you can now use other foreign SIM on it without hassle.

For the global versions it means that you can use any SIM of any country immediately and it will work.

Now just to let you know this. Samsung has about 7 phone manufacturing plants in 7 different countries and with the same standard. It might surprise you to know that Samsung manufacturers only few of their devices in their South Korea home based plant, reason why it will be hard for you to see made in Korea Samsung phones.. But rather Samsung plant in Vietnam manufacturers more of the Samsung phones that you see. Other plants in other countries are Yes China (original Samsung phones are manufactured in China in Samsung plant in China), Indonesia houses 1 Samsung manufacturing plant, like we mentioned, one is in Vietnam, we have one in Brazil, one in India, and one in Malaysia
Very detailed. Thank you. So that is how those "phone engineers" charge us for unlocking a device? Na wa o

I miss not having 4G ONLY like I do on my Tecno. I used to switch to that mode when I don't want people to disturb me. They call and call and it keeps telling them 'User busy'. grin
I enjoy that on my present android... That is because it is only LTE they support nd LTE is strictly for data. Now devices are having voicelte too, that will be able to support voice calls on LTE
The mistake Nokia made, glo made similar. Nokia ventured int Microsoft os wen everyone was goin into android os after the era of Symbian and Java phones. They were losing out cos of low patronage and d an, their designs were freaking ugly. I feel their design engineers deserve some military flogging.
Glo also chose band 28 to transmit their 4g which is very close to 5g.... They envisaged a future upgrade and that bandwidth makes it easier. The move would have been great if 4g was strong in Nigeria, but it had barely had its grounds here then.
Other networks emitted their 4g on atleast 2 bands but glo was rigid on only band 28. They are test running band 3 now, which is supported on several devices. Keep your fingers crossed

Nice thread, I use A50, no bad reviews so far, the battery is impressive for a Samsung phone, and good camera too. I did not update the os yet sha, the only con is the on screen fingerprint sensor, it works but it could be better
Someone commented earlier that the finger print was not to great but when he updated the os after 4days of purchase, the finger print was superb. Mayb you should give update a shot

This may be the reason why my #25000 data on glo wasn't going on my A70... I had to subscribe to mtn data again to be used on my A70.. too bad if glo 4G LTE is working on A70...

Both A50 and A30 are very fine phones.....
However if the only difference is its "processor and ROM" , then for non- gamers like me A30 would suffice (My opinion but Kai why am still weighing dis )
