These days, one cannot commute on roads in Lagos state without beholding some bizarre sights.

It is the sight of wet clothes hung up to dry along important roads in the state.

Are these not clear signs of the huge crisis of homelessness in Nigeria's commercial capital?

Lagos State, though not officially recognized as the most populous state in Nigeria, is home to over 20 million Nigerians.

Does Lagos state have laws at all......lagos has always had homeless people the way New York has but they don't spread clothes on the road..... Homelessness in Lagos is high but common.

When they say Nigeria is the poverty capital of the world people refute it but this here is a proof.
Expect more of this in all the major cities in Nigeria

There is always be slums and ghettos even in New York, you will find them there.

I think some of these areas are construction sites hence the workers sleep at the sites who only go to their respective homes on weekends wash,spread and wear their clothes there.

Since the plague, buhari, fell upon this country over 40 million people have been rendered homeless, jobless and hopeless.

The little positive things the country was known for have all gone south

A picture tells a thousand words. Anytime I see an abandoned motorbike lying flat by the road, I instantly know its rider no longer has need for it

Yes, these pictures are signs that the economy is in a bad state. Millions have lost jobs and the economy is predicted to grow at a shameful 2.5% annually for the next 4 years, which is not even up to the population growth rate- meaning that Nigerians in real terms are getting poorer each year.

Not only is homelessness growing, so is crime. It has increased everywhere and can be sensed through the growing kidnapping, Yahoo plus, cattle rustling and so on.

The influx of northerners in Lagos is a time-bomb yet to explode. They come in droves with no house to stay. Some have commercial motorcycle. They defeacate everywhere in the street and convert all roadside and govt establishment to shelter.

Waiting for the "Lagos is an overrated slum" crew.
