In Nigeria, beyond doubt, education has ceased to be the best legacy to hand down to your kids; not especially what we learnt from the other thread

These are graduates I guess.
For me I think the best on the list is:

1. Foreign Citizenship (not just any, I mean the likes of USA, Canada etc)

2. Business

3. Assets most especially landed properties....

What do you think?

I don’t think you understand my plight:

I mean what secures a future for your child in a corrupt country like ours after you as a parent leave this world...

Good upbringing and education will only land them 5k teaching jobs in Erinfolami community grammar school or Ochuko high school

Lol @ Erinfolami Community...

I think making the child a well rounded person will go a long way... like learning skills, languages, vocations, etc in addition to a good education.

I still emphasize good education because despite how hard we think it is for a graduate to get a job, it is not unicorns that work in the multinationals and earn big.

Yes not unicorns like you stated earlier, but dumb-headed, half baked graduates privileged by politicians grin

That's what "they" tell us. When we keep believing such comments, it limits us already.

At least I personally know at least 5 people who work in the big oil companies (I don't want to mention names) in Lagos and in Port Harcourt. What I noticed is that they had either a 2.1 or first class in some specialized courses like Geology, etc. And they are not sons or nephews of politicians.

People will keep securing these jobs while some others just resign their faith because they have chosen to believe that the jobs are only for politician's relatives.

Still education! Education isn't just about going to school alone. Also a good upbringing follws.

Without good upbringing and sound education, those points you posted above will be wasted.

Sound education still remains the best...leave you child untrained and see how things will turn out
