President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate implementation of the N30,000 new national wage for Federal Public Service workers currently earning below the minimum wage.

The Chairman, National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission, Chief Richard Egbule said this while addressing a news conference on the implementation of the new national minimum wage on Tuesday in Abuja.

He said that the commencement of the approved payment would be determined by the office of the Accountant-General and backdated to when the President signed the agreement

According to Egbule, the approval takes effect from April 18, 2018, and will affect the salary of government agencies under five salary structures.

I hooe all waring parties will now lay low

It's commendable but increasing the salary of workers earning below N30,000 without a corresponding increment across the board will create its own vices. Once there is increment in salaries, inflation could set in which will definitely affect all categories of workers. In order to keep up with this, the workers who are not beneficiaries of this increment could resort to corruption and sharp practices in order to meet up with the current cost of living. This government is so dumb. Whenever they try to solve one problem they eventually end up creating more problems.

At least it is still encouraging.
People collecting below 30k before can so be proud of collecting 30k.
We don't need to antagonize every area the government is tring to encourage workers.

you guys haven't get the antic of buhari. He don't want to pay the money. how is it possible to pay some set of people and not pay the others
