I did check I never assumed. Unless u want me to post picture of that too. Mind u most of the rating are done by folks who bought the device firsthand and might have used it for at least a day before they rate. I don't want u to feel those rating are done by paid agent because it will be impossible to paid over 200 people to rate a particular product. Beside if this was possible Redmi could have also paid some agent too. Also my comparison was on product preference not on device performance!!!

There must be something fascinating about Samsung phones that Nigeria love so much. I did some comparisons with some of the new Samsung phone in town with the much talk about Redmi phone in this Forum and here are my finding....


First even though the Redmi Note 7 got some mouthwatering features phone users till prefer Samsung. Below I compared the Samsung A50 with Redmi Note 7.

Even though the Note 7 got more bandwidth, Got a better processor, Got Gorilla Glass 5, Got Fast Charging 18W, Quick Charge 4 and Longer Hours of Battery Live user still regard the Samsung A50 better than the Redmi Note 7

Lol...first off Xiaomi came to Nigeria just this year compared to Samsung that have been around for a long time and people are just getting to know about Xiaomi, if I wasn't a nairalander I wont even know Xiaomi exists, plus I'm using note 7 but I didn't give any rating or review anywhere same with 5 people on my contact and two more planing to get theirs and you know very well Nigerians love brand name so I'm not surprised but check it in two years time and I bet you the stat will be different.

Of course, Samsung is a popular brand in Nigeria. Xiaomi are not even 4months old I'm Nigeria yet. So it's not rocket science that they have more sales

All of em use iPhone Samsung.. even average ones use Huawei and the fee ones infinix and tecno.

Even the Slay queens and gees here use iPhone 8plus and s9+ upwards.

Many people buy stuff bcus what dey wanted to get their money wasn't enough, if given the opportunity to get the money they need they will probably not settle for what they are currently using

Why some people have the money to get whatever they want but they will rather spend money on what they think is cheap/affordable rather thean spending high on other brand

It all falls down to the mindset or Behaviour of such buyer

@krattoss, xiaomi has a long way to go especially in publicity and advertisment. most of her fighters are its marketer on nairaland. even in reality here in 9ja, people relate with tecno, infinix even itel than xiaomi. i will choose tecno/infinix of the same class(of xiaomi). huawei is ubitiquous than xiaomi self..

Are u saying in two years time Samsung will be less value? Or u think Samsung will fall just like Techno and Infinix when newer brand comes around... I don't think so. You can't compared those phone with Samsung because Samsung is far ahead of them when it come to brand, durability, preference, performance, etc

The major problem that will affect Samsung if they don't do something about it is the cost of repairing a faulty Samsung. Many people like myself is afraid of buying Samsung because the to replace a broken screen is almost the cost to buy new phone. They should do something about it or it will affect their sells in future
