Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, has expressed regret at ending his participation in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) with an injury., Igbere TV reports.

Ighalo scored in the third minute on Wednesday to secure a 1-0 victory for Nigeria over Tunisia in the third-place match at the AFCON.

The 30-year-old, however, did not speak on his reported retirement in his Instagram post on Friday.

Slowest striker with the worst sense of positioning I've ever seen. He just had a really lucky tournament.

I'll be glad to see him go and make way for deadlier strikers.

Still our best striker.

Could do with a partner similar to Obafemi Martins.

Even though you missed some crucial chances and were on your own most of time during play, I'm proud of you and the team.
