I don't think there is anything wrong about having a high opinion of one's opinions. Many smart and influencial people like Nietzsche and Marx for instance had a high opinion about their opinions. However, It might become a problem if those opinions are wrong. Recently I have come to realize that the rightness or wrongness of an opinion doesn't even matter as much as the impact it leaves in the mass consciousness of humanity and the degree to which it influences human action. And it seems to me that it's usually those who have a high opinion about their opinions that have left the largest mark in human history, regardless of how ridiculously wrong some of those opinions were. This doesn't mean that I concede to the claim of having a high opinion about my opinion or mean that I consider myself in the same league as the people I just mentioned. How I express my opinion might sound funny to you, but it might sound different to someone else. And it might lay the seeds that would germinate in the gradual modification of people's behaviors, beliefs and ideas.
