As for land, honestly, I hope people don't get even a patch of it. Some just want to turn this country into one big ghetto. Look what happened to the house in Pretoria that BLF members invaded & occupied by force. They lived there & thrashed it. Urban land (since people are running away from rural land at neck-breaking speed) should only be given to those with a plan & purpose for it. Building shacks on it is not only taking us backwards, but it shows that people haven't got a clue what they want to use the land for. You give them land today, tomorrow they will complain about the lack of infrastructure. Like I stated earlier, they just want other people's nice homes so they can thrash them. Maintaining a property is not as easy as people think. It takes money. Given the opportunity, they'll turn this country into a dump & burn everything on it. I'm sick of South Africans & their parasitic mindset sometimes. All they want is to take. You have something nice, someone will ask you to give it to them (Ndicela undiphe yona, not caring how you got it or how you kept it in the condition that it is in, but nonetheless, they want it). Ugh.
Thabo Mbeki said something similar in regards to Land expropriation. He said when it took place after apartheid, most black folks simply sold the land...said they preferred cash.
I think Cyril isn't stupid enough to go all out with this especially without expropriation.

What do you mean you don't like how he treated her? She had an affair! She was no saint just because she's dead & neither was he.
True but 27 years..only natural something happens. She got way too demonized for my liking.

Yes, it's true. Most opted for the cash option. It's scary because it seems certain factions are planning to impeach, Cyril. When that happens, we're done for. The funny thing with South Africans is, they think they're poor. But I don't think they really understand that even poverty got levels. We're not eating rats yet, but at this rate, I'm afraid there will come a time where we will be setting mousetraps, in preparation for dinner. I hope noone will help us because we deserve every bit of what's coming. I honestly was unaware of how many idiotic people we have in this country until in most recent years. It's mind boggling.

Yeah but it was with someone close to the family. Perhaps that was too much of a betrayal for him, who knows. I never cared much for her though & it has nothing to do with all the scandals that surrounded her. I've always found her a bit fake for some reason. Most people think she's the cat's meao. Maybe it's the rebel in me, but she's never been someone I admire, although I do sympathize with some of the stuff she went through. It ends there for me.

ANC might as well join forces with the EFF then. There's hardly a difference with both these days. I think the likes of Mbeki needs to join Lekota and form another party. I like Cope but it's too small time.
Malema has ANC folks shook for some reason. How is that guy this powerful?

Funny my aunt(who is South African) said she really broke Nelson's heart...especially her fling with Mpofu. I never knew she cheated on Nelson while he was out of prison. That's a bit cold no lie..

Malema's not-so-secret weapon is saying whatever he thinks people wanna hear. He's a populist & a dumb but dangerous one at that. Like I've really tried to detach myself & listen to him without judgment, but nah. To me he looks stupid even when he is just smiling & not saying anything. I don't like him at all.
I also think Lekota is one of the few sensible people left. The rest have no integrity whatsoever. I want them to screw up this country & get it over with since people don't seem to have any reasoning capacity.

She had her own demons, I guess. Nelson was also no saint though. He had a few skeletons of his own as far as commitment is concerned. I just don't know if he ever cheated on Winnie. His 1st wife claimed he cheated & beat her. The one thing I respect him for is, he told her straight that he was no longer in love with her. To me the bitter truth is better than living an illusion.

I liked him at first because of his Pan Africanism but nah...he's too extreme. Says some very crazy ish at times...not the way to go.
South Africans will need to wake up. It's obvious ANC is dead at the moment.
Another guy whom I like a bit is Herman Mashaba. Don't know too much about him but I don't get why people hate him.
If DA weren't a bit dumb themselves - ANC wouldn't be this laid back.

No, many people actually like Mashaba, they just don't like the party he represents. He seems to be one of the few people that takes his mandate seriously. Now if there's a guy I dislike in as much as I dislike Juju, it'd be the Gauteng MEC guy. Can't remember his name now but I can't stand him. He's another populist of note. I don't even see what people like in him because the standard of education is in decay. South African politics are nauseating at the moment.

I was thinking Mashaba would be a good bet for presidency. I know some folks have said he sounds "Trump like" but like you said he seems like someone who takes his work seriously.
Are you talking about that Lesufi guy? He said ANC were too quick in expelling Malema. No surprises if he sounds like him.

Deep down I know (hope) it isn't so but only God can explain why we have had shitty leaders.
No one cares as long as it's their tribe providing the shittiness. It's just too sad.

Yes, Lesufi! I cannot stand the guy. All he does is go around attending to racial issues, to score himself points with the stupid masses when we have bigger issues in our system.
Now that you mention it, Mashaba would make a great president because he's not a populist.

I can feel the bolded. The Nigerian issue is a very unfortunate one, it's almost spiritual, but I really hope things change for you guys. You deserve a lot better than the kind of leadership you have. People should really start to vote with their heads. But after what happened during your last elections though, I'm hopeless. Maybe you're on a purge. It gets worse before it gets better type of thing.

Honestly I don't think any decent person would want to waste their time ruling the country. Not worth the hassle. Jesus himself would find it difficult.
Need to start from the grassroots and get rid of the clowns we call leaders...from Local governments up to the national assembly.
What pisses me off is how the so called "technocrats" that contested last year have all gone into hiding instead of making plans for the next elections. They'll pop up when it's 6 months to the elections and scream "change". So ridiculous!

I don't know if it's a positive - but at least he isn't the finance MEC (probably not a positive as education is important for the future).
Cyril needs to grow a pair. I had high hopes for him but now he is looking too weak.

You have said it. It sounds scary but its the truth. I keep saying it if you take Buhari and make him president of the US he will be forced to work because the people there wont take rubbish. The people have established a system such that you either work or quit. Same way if you bring Obama to Niveria he will fail woefully

Honestly, after what I read and heard during the last elections - it might just be the best thing.
I still think the problems of the country is mainly from the elites.
I don't think Biafra will be the "Singapore Of Africa" or whatever it is my Igbo brothers are harping on about. Best bet would be regionalism/fiscal federalism.

I mean - we have taken lack of constant power supply for almost 60 years!!
That's why it pisses me off when some mumu folks insult black americans and call them "lazy" and acting like "perpetual victims" like Nigeria isn't a 100 times worse.

So true. This powe r thing is a total absolute disgrace. The irony is the solution is not hard I mean these things are supposed to be routine. I dont know why people who dont have electricity be sitting and insulting black americans. I try to not say anyrhing about black americans or other countries when my own country is a total joke.

Why can't people like yourself run for office, I wonder. You seem clear-headed. Well, I wish you guys all the best in finding a viable solution because it's going to be a mammoth task to tackle everything that needs to be done so you can have a functional society.

It'll take at least 20 - 30 years to get the country at a decent level.
Before we do that - the masses need serious reorientation. At this point - I don't mind if it comes from a dictator. Democracy is turning out to be just as bad as the military regime.
