Since I was born till today, I‘ve NEVER seen an Igbo BEGGAR. Africa should study this most enterprising ethnic nationality. Nigeria had her fastest GFP growth in 2003-2007 and 2011-2015 under the hand of an Igbo @NOIweala. It can’t be a COINCIDENCE!…..RENO

Former Presidential Aide, Reno Omokri has praised the entrepreneurial prowess of the Igbos and opined that Africa should study the ethnic group to learn how to boost the African economy.

Omokri believes that it was not a coincidence that Nigeria experienced her fastest GFP ath the time an Igbo, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala doubled as the minister of Finance and the coordinating minister of the economy.

However, he also opened up a debate when he said he had never seen an Igbo beggar before.

Read his tweet below and see the reactions of that followed.

Always trying so hard to sound politically correct, spite or pitch one region against the other for some cheap popularity.

Igbos beg codedly sha even with pride grin

You will hear something like... Nna Chorom obere ego there, if my container land I will refund you grin

But as for sitting on the road or making begging their official deal, you will never see any Igbo man do that even if he is blind or crippled.

Entered a shop one day with lots of guys running it, didnt know their boss was one small looking man on wheelchair I passed outside before entering the shop.

Thats why its not good to look down on anyone.

He said the truth, igbos don't take begging as a profession like the tribes in the north.

That means you've never travelled.

9th mile, Onitsha, even Abakaliki - Ogoja park, them plenty for there.

Funny enough, even in Ojuelegba, under the bridge, you'll see well known beggars from the east.

All the posters above are just unbelievable..

The man is saying nothing but the truth..

One beggar I usually give money I believe is Igbo from the way he looks, after traveling for a while, I was surprised to see him set up a small retail business.. He now sells touches, matches, polish, pen, and the sorts in a small basket instead of begging..

That's how my curiosity about him being an Igbo was satisfied..

The person in question is disabled and rides on Boris..

Igbo people too much abeg.

If you use post office along Akpakpava road in Benin you may have noticed as well. The guy is a regular there..

Every tribe has its beggars, it is just that there are places it is institutionalized and accepted as a way of life thus a continuous cycle that produces endless numbers of beggars.

Oga there are so many disabled Hausa guys that are pushing wheel barrow rather than begging. I know some that have established a business after begging for a while. Begging is a personal thing , not limited to a tribe. Come Alaba you will see a complete family of 6 begging where only one is probably disabled and remaining 5 are very agile
