How much would it cost to lodge at the resort? I'm always scared of visiting such places because it's Nigeria, anything can happen to you.

Go now before Buhari implements Ruga nationwide, because once he does that his herdsmen are going to be in control of all the forest areas and highwaystongue

What is unsafe about the trail walk?

The woods are weak and some broken.

The least is about 12,500. Comes lesser if you are booking more than one at a time.

I visited this site in February with some few friends.

The Beautiful Ikogosi spring, located in Ekiti west local government area of Ekiti state, Nigeria.

Easily accessed either through Efon Alaye-Ipole Iloro road or from the city centre and state capital, Ado-Ekiti.

The Ikogosi Warm Spring, unarguably one of the most visited tourist destination in the country unique features comes from it's naturally occurring nature's bliss, of warm and cold spring flowing side by side to form a confluence, with each still maintaining its thermal properties.

This merging of warm and cold water is the first of its kind in the world.

Now, that’s unique.

Hmm wink

.
According to myth the people believe the warm and cold water were the wives of a man, who after much rivalry and fights turned into springs through magical means.

That is more like it. cheesy

A giant looking tree then stands alone representing the husband of the women. The people believe, despite these women's differences they can still co-exist and live peacefully only because they still have great respect for their husband.

However in 1952, the spring was brought to limelight by Rev. John S. McGee after he had heard magical tales of it’s existence from the Ikogosi people. He later went on to put the place in good use, building camps and places for relaxation.

And by December 22, 1973, a guest house was opened by the government to receive visitors in the camp. The resort have experienced good face-lift ever since then from the state government but more can still be done especially the trails.

How many of such places in Canada, UK, US etc are run by their federal, state or local governments?
Are these not the places where Ekiti people and other Nigerians are running o because we have all made our own country a mess
When the state government finally gets some sense they will privatise it and make better money therefrom instead of giving out subventions to cronies who see it as their own way of getting a part of the national cake.

The best tourist centre is in cross rivers state and it is obudu cattle ranch.
I also know that some of the neigbours will be pooing in that bush and flowers around.my instints tells me so.
Anyway obudu ranch is a neat place with neat, young sweet girls that are neat down to their pant.
Seriously i miss calabar...
To those planing to go to that evil forest,i hope you know that there are so many ritualist in ogunn and ekitti.

The resort now houses a bar, swimming pool, trail walk(not too safe) and a beautiful garden.

Best time to visit to have that serene peaceful feeling happens to be between February-April, but to have that fun and exciting feeling, public holidays would be better.

Gate fee stands at 500Naira if you are paying as an individual but comes cheaper in group. But then you get to skip that if you would be lodging at the resor

Great info. smiley

Tourism is dead in Nigeria

You can say that again.
Due to owambes at every excuse and mosque/church meetings?
So what can we do about resuscitating it, like BBSharon is doing relentlessly

You need to add the status of Fulani herdsmen presence in the area to encourage more visitors who will energise the economy of your home town and create jobs to engage the youths etc.
