OndoUpdates:He should never have had this menace to begin with. No need to open can of worms but I believe it is apparently cleear how this happened anyway. His position as SW Gov Chairman means nothing when he lacks capacity to secure his home state. If he cannot govern Ondo what is the value of chairing a regional Governing Council? |

MetaPhysical:The revelation of Fulani vigilantes operating within Ondo is a very big embarrassment to the Yoruba race. In saner climes, such blunder would be enough to cost/deny Aketi a second term because it is simply unacceptable. I don't buy the excuse/talk about him not knowing about their existence prior to the revelation since he is the chief security officer of the state. Vigilante operations are too sensitive to be left into the hands of non-indegenes. OPC for example could easily have filled that position. |

Arizonaguy:OP and a host of his responders here on the thread are hired by a PR company retained by governor to clean image. Yoruba politicians married to women of other ethnicities end up weakened and too relaxed about our national interests. They end up abusing our people needs. If you doubt me review the list of Yoruba politicians that are not married to Yoruba women and go through their ideologies on Yoruba patriotism you will agree with me. Their ideology is always a national stance...."I am Nigerian first, Yoruba second". We need governors in Yorubaland with the "I am Yoruba first" ideology. Ondo Governor has demonstrated mixed patriotism since his inception. |

Nah Ondo state I dey o... Aketi no do anything kan kan. Photo governor...he wasn't too serious when he got in as the governor of Ondo state. He had no intention of re-contesting, I think suddenly his loyalist told him he has a right to contest hence the need for all these photos ops |

RockHard:I agree! He encountered a fulani bandit along Akure highway not long before Mrs Olakunri's episode. He reported it nonchalantly. Never followed up on it. Then to highlight his complacency on the issue, his government rwsponded and said they had a meeting with macban and gave macban instruction to weed bad elements out. So was there follow up with macban to see how that task was progressing? Actually, what the fvk is a State Governor doing meeting with macban, a fulani ethnic group? If fulani are carrying ak47 and killing people in your territory you deal with it as required by law. Akeredolu cannot....his hands are tied because the person that put him in government house against Tinubu's candidate is fulani and macbam patron. So you see why he must turn his face the opposite way and not harass macban. As far i know if you are not fulani you cannot join macban. OPC must begin to field candidates for us in state elections and even LG elections. |

MetaPhysical:His nonchalant reaction to that encounter he had with bandits is very instructive of his dereliction of duty as a chief security officer of the state. Perhaps the Olakunrin murder may have been averted had he been more proactive and assertive in the discharge of his duty to protect his people after that incident. As much I am not a fan of Fayose, I dare say that he would have responded differently had he been the one that met with those bandits. We all saw the way Fayose responded to the criminal activities of herdsmen within his Ekiti domain when he felt the FG security apparatus wasn't forthcoming; he organised local hunters and vigilantes to confront the criminals head-on. He even got the state assembly involved. Akeredolu has furked up big time with his handling of the security of the Ondo populace. That is just the na.k.ed truth. |

RockHard:Attempts to launder his image will fail. He is just as useless as that Ajimobi that was rejected in Oyo for disrespecting people left and right. |

Nigerians are very easy to deceive because politicians know they are gullible. This is the same tactics politicians have used over and over to win elections. Those who are reasonable enough will understand that industrializing any state in Nigeria is as hard as defeating corruption in Nigeria. Nigeria doesn't have what it takes to industrialize even in 200 years to come. Industrialization doesn't happen they way they want to make it appear. Siting a few low end manufacturing companies does not mean a country is industrializing.Industrialization is something that involves everything conceivable. It involves quality education, infrastructures, research, skilled labour, strong and absolutely committed leadership, disciplined population and friendly countries willing to provide the necessary money and technology. In addition to above mentioned factors, there should be shrewd entrepreneurs willing to invest in factories alongside government established ones. I will advise people to read about the experiences of China, Korea and Japan during their industrialization. |
