University of Ibadan

Dear Applicant

This is to inform all candidates who applied for 2018/2019 postgraduate programmes of the University that the Test of Proficiency in English(TPE) will hold in IBADAN CENTRE ONLY

The Postgraduate School will not be able to conduct the TPE in LAGOS CENTRE as earlier advertised.

The following departments have further scheduled their departmental screening test for the same dates immediately after the TPE.

Microbiology, Chemistry, Geology, Statistics, Anatomy, Psychology, Accounting, Banking and Finance, Marketing and consumer studies, Pharmaceutical Microbiology

Food Technology, Civil Engineering, Industrial and Production Engineering, Mathematics, Social Work, Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Administration, Science and Technology Education

Any inconvenience caused, especially to those who had indicated to write their TPE in Lagos is highly regrettable.

Yes.. It was done a day after EPT.
All applicants to the department of physics will sent SMS and or mail to inform them. You will be required to bring your degree project along..

Message I was sent last year.. "There will be departmental entrance exam tomorrow 12/10/2018 at 8:30am venue 200L lab; physics dept. come with your B.sc project."

Thanks a lot. Did you apply for Physics? And is project used for grading as well?

Yes, I applied for Physics and I was admitted.

Your Bsc project will not be used for grading. It wil be used during interactive session..
Interactive session is immediately after the departmental test where you would be divided into different units (based on what you applied for).. It's just to get you familiar with the department and your colleagues too

How was the test like? Any advice on areas to study?

And what aided your success in the test and admission?

Just random 10 objective questions.

Will the questions be the same for every candidate, or they will be different based on the area of specialization?
