It was boldly written “HAJJ COMMISSION” and this shouldn’t be an issue to non Muslims, just that going to hajj that stage of their life might not be necessary but I guess that’s the only way the commission has capacity to commend their effort.

Are you sure? Hajj Commission is a Federal government body. They have no right to use government money to discriminate. What if the top scorers are non Muslims, will the Hajj Commission still sponsor them on pilgrimage? It is the mindset and actions of Nigerians that make the country a shithole.

Send them so that they can come back and start their own el zakzaky movement right.

Rubbish! In as much that I'm a Muslim, I'm not in support of NAHCOM sponsoring young children to perform hajj just because they performed well in the UTME exams. These are young kids that some of there parents are struggling to pay their school fees and many of them are below the age of 18. The best they should have done for them is to give them scholarship to study in any of the University across the country just as some banks have reportedly done.

The Christians should also offer their best candidates a trip to Jerusalem if they so wish.This is not a bone of contention./

Was it Islam that made them come tops in the UTME? Why not give them scholarships? How can someone excels in academics, he is reward him with attending his religious programme, not with scholarship. Did he come tops in quoranic recitation? See why development is still far from these people.

What if the pilgrimage requested for top Muslim Jambites or overall, which the non Muslim among them might be rewarded in cash.

The problem is that Nigeria is a secular state so a publicly funded organisation has no business using public funds to propagate religion.

The Pilgrims commission should stick to its primary assignment of looking after pilgrim welfare and preventing drug traffickers from tarnishing the country's image in another land.

If members of the commission want to propagate islam, they should dig into their own pockets and use their own personal funds to do so.

Am just tired about us in this country. When they were giving best student in Universities ridiculous reward we were here spewing. Now some organisations gave a worthy reward, you still condemn it. Why are you so concerned about the Hajj? Why no positive comments on the banks that said they want to offer the best 100 scholarship?
If Muslims offers Hajj as encouragement, why cant CAN come up with a better compensation to balance the book? We have many Christian denominational Universities across the country, they can save some quotas for best performing Christian students every year.
