CHAPTER EIGHTEEN



"Why did you call me out here Charity?" Mr Walter asked as soon as he stepped in to the eatery.


"Sit down Walter, there is a big problem" she sighed.


"Is the problem in any way my business?" He asked eyeing Mrs Charity.


"Yes, it is, that was why i called you here" she answered breathing out loud.


"Well go straight to the point then, am a busy man" he sneered.


"Our children are in a relationship, They have started from where we stopped years ago" she replied in a sarcastically.


"Our children?, Who is our children?, I hope you are not referring to your daughter as our children because she is not mine, I have just a son" he sneered again.


"Your son and my daughter are lovers, my daughter is even pregnant for him, we need to stop them before anyone gets hurt" she answered with a sigh.


"Oh my god, why must it be your daughter, all the ladies in Enugu state, he didn't see any, apart from your daughter, I need to talk some sense into him" Mr Walter replied shaking his head.


"Please do, i tried talking to my daughter too, but she didn't listen to me" she shrugged.


"That is not my business or my concern, the only reason am still here with you is because my son is involved, so whatever issue you have with your, go and settle it with her" he hissed.


"What changed Walter?, You used to love me so much then, until i made that little mistake and then you just hate me automatically and even avoid me like a plague" she sobered up.


"Wait, you called that a little mistake?, Are you crazy?, I warned you not to go on that business trip because i never trusted your boss, but you didn't heed to my instructions, you went ahead and did what pleased you, that wasn't a mistake dear, you actually wanted to do it and stop acting all innocent" he hissed loudly.


"But you came back after 12 years and we even had an unforgettable experience that night, how can you forget so soon?" She responded all teared up.


"That very night was a mistake, i was drunk, and i didn't know what i was doing, i will be glad if you can let go of the past and move on, i will talk to my son later" he said making to stand up.


"You are calling that a mistake too right?, We all have made many mistakes in the past, the best we can do now is to make things right, at least be a father to her, she is your daughter Walter" she spoke wiping the tears.


"How sure am i that she is my daughter?, And besides, Your late husband already filled the space of a father, bringing me in means confusing the little girl, she is too small for that" he rolled his eyes.


"The moment you see her and the striking resemblance hits you, then you will know that she is your child, she is 12, i know she is too small, but at least visit and show some love, by the time she gets old, she won't find it hard to comprehend" she sniffed.


"I don't want to have anything to do with you or your daughter, just stay away from me" he hissed walking out on her.







"Good afternoon ma, is this the residence of miss Nanya Obidinma?" A young man asked.


"Yes, it is, how may i be of help?" Nanya asked scrutinizing him.


"Okay ma, Mr louis said i should deliver this fruit juice to you, he said it will help you and the baby" the young man replied bringing a package out from the nylon while showing it to Nanya.


"Fruit juice kwa?, I didn't tell louis that i want a fruit juice" she said, confusion written all over her face.


"He said the same thing too ma, he said he wanted to surprise you" the young man smiled.


"Am going to call him on the phone to confirm, i told him i wanted ice cream and not fruit juice" she rolled her eyes.


"There won't be need for that ma, he is in a board meeting right now and yea, he didn't forget your Ice cream, it is here with me" he replied bringing it out from a bag.


"Yummy, my favourite flavour" she replied smiling as she saw the ice cream.


"Okay ma, you have to sign here" he said giving her a piece of paper.


"Oh okay, thanks for the delivery" she smiled shutting her door after signing on the paper.
