save that mentally defeated theory, how are they mentally defeated??
that means you don't know the meaning of mental defeat....

sometimes mental defeat is self inflicted (actually many times it is)
But other times it's due to events
and a MENTALLY DEFEATED person cannot even achieve anything meaningful
where I come from in Nigeria, we have those mentally defeated people too
So I know what I'm sayin

Its not about superiority complex its about acting a foo.l when there is plenty enough to go round and putting the blame society, govt etc. You are solely responsible for being a failure or a success. I have seen some even blame the immigrants that sold their ancestors to slavery cheesy

I have

But just once

the AA community where I used to live were okay sha

maybe because they were mostly well educated and exposed.

Watch them in entertainment, very classless.
Use crude words, always naked, so fake and extreemly lazyset of people to behold.

I have watched entertainment across the world and theirs are yet to evolve, like naija cheesy
Serious countries don't like to invite them over cos they have nothing to show.
Watch Beyonce talk, so classless.
Nothing stops them from home schooling even as entertainers.

Leave that Ugosample, ignorant AF. Do the so called 'mentally defeated' Nigerians in Nigeria behave as african americans do towards foreigners, even towards other africans amongst them? The guy hasn't lived in the US is here joining that ässwipe of Akata that insults the whole of Africa and Nigerians saying Nigerians and African Americans are the same. I'm sure where you live your life has not been threatened by Ivoriens neither have you been discriminated against.

You are most likely to be robbed, shot, stabbed or and discriminated against in the US by an Akata than any other person, ten times over. And it'll be one low-life scrounger for that matter. Dude is just online yapping rubbish. Shame on you for discrediting hardworking Nigerians and Africans in diaspora and in Nigeria comparing them that group of people. You think watching music videos, sports and 24 is the real america. Let's hope you eventually find yourself in america if you want to migrate and experience first hand or maybe your children then you may find out that even CIV and Nigeria may be safer to live in than many places in america.

Just look at him supporting a culturally lost and condescending low-life that was obviously derailing the topic, as if the thread is about developing Nigeria. Nigerians talking about immigrant experiences and preferences and a frustrated Akata comes here to insult all of us and tell blatant lies about 'very succesful' black americans. Someone who hasn't even seen anywhere else in the world, no foreign experience whatsoever to speak of and some of you commend those ignorant bigoted comments even against your kinsmen.

Nigeria bad Nigeria bad but don't fück with the resolve and resilience of Nigerians. We are everywhere and are breaking barriers and trailblazing regardless. So keep your self-hating 'black people are the same' crap to yourself. I know where I'm from and who my ancestors are and we are NOT like Akata in anyway.

Nigerians generally are resilient people that is not in doubt
despite all we have gone through (especially as igbos) a good number of us rose above it

AA folks can learn that from us that's for sure

But let me flip the script
what we can also learn from them is the through the decades since 1920s
they were able to face theur oppressors and win their rights

. I know where I'm from and who my ancestors are and we are NOT like Akata in anyway.

typical Nigerian

You think this makes you better than them?

it does not

You will never admit that this dumb shit we do goes two ways

African Americans thinking they are superior to Africans which they are not

And Africans like you (you have exposed yourself as oneof them) who think they are better than or superior to AA which obviously you are not

Let you and Akatawoman continue to gloat in emptiness on who is superior

probably that was how Diallo Amadou thought before he got the bullet from the racist police guys

CIV happens to be the place where my business is located
So I spend more time of the year there
I move from place to place and I have had my own encounters with AA and even where I used to live briefly in anothercountry, we lived in the same neighbourhood
(this country has a "right of return route for AAs this shoukd give you a clue)

From my own experience and exchanges with them, I have come to see things from a non biased perspective

A good AA from a good AA family is just as cool as a regular decent citizen

A ratchet one is a ratchet one and it's dangerous to associate with them

I even have AA cousins too..

So don't give me That crap of me having zero experiences with them

That is just my point

lmao cheesy cheesy

But let us think about this for a second tho

You cannot discount their history and the effects it has had

this is not making excuses for them
this is just the fact

And it leads me back to the mental defeat i have been saying since

your Destiny is in your own hands despite what has happened or did not happen (be it jim crow or slavery)

your destiny is in your own hands
only if many of them can realise that undecided undecided

those who have amongst them have done better for themselves

Is 'AAs can learn from us and we can learn from them' the same as 'blackman na blackman? and we are all 'self-destructive' ? As if race is anything to go by. If you don't know, race has no biological or scientific basis and is merely a social construct so if you think just because someone is black, the person is your kinsman and is self-destructive then ride alone in your dystopia don't bring up such nonsense here like it's some fact.

There have been and are numerous brave, great and illustrious AA men and women worthy of emulation, and we don't call those ones Akata by the way; even so this thread isn't about them. It is about migration to the US and experiences. I think I responded when more people were continuing to shįt on Europe as if the US is x100 better.

Nigerians fought for independence and were part of the civil rights movement. Nigerians also greatly supported the movement against apartheid in RSA. I guess now you don't see the Shiites fighting for their freedom despite being killed by the government of the day. People are surviving and thriving in Nigeria and are fighters but you disrespect them bundling them with Akatas.

As for what I've learnt from Akata? it is to be wary of them and approach with caution, but I don't see myself in America anytime in the future.

This america talk don tire me. Go to america if you want, read somewhere that there are 300 millions guns in circulation. Good luck with your endeavour, let me leave this link here. For illegals, if you think this couldn't be you then think again because I don't see illegals living in midtown manhattan.

Don't forget that the thread is about Nigerian migrants going to the US. Your experience is not that relevant to the theme. I have also met a number of decent ones in professional circles and trust they are many, we see them on TV as well, but the majority in the US which the illegal migrants from Nigeria may experience, are the issue here; and the truth is even those AAs avoid the Akatas (I differentiate them)

Besides, let's not pretend like profiling is extraneous concept shall we? We as Nigerians, until we start using our second passports, are subjected to extra vetting, checks and visa hurdles when travelling but even so Akata way still dey burst our medulla cheesy some of us never see that kind lifestyle before grin

And it is not about being better or worse than them but I take offence being grouped with them having lived in the US, even though I'm sort of a lone ranger type of dude that would rather deal with individuals. Na as you bundle us together wey bring talk, I was talking about US and Europe before you bring Akata matter inside. But still me and my people no be like them, our values are so different. Canada is better in my opinion and since you speak English and French you'll be as Canadian as Celine Dion. The EE allows you almost full status and rights as a citizen and it is a much better country to live in, for raising or relocating your family. The Canadian EE gives you the equivalent of a US Green Card and unless you have a minimum of $500k to $1m (heard Trump's administration increased it to ) to invest in the US, you're only going to get a US visa at best which limits you legally. What you do illegally is between you and ICE until you change status.

All the best! but if you go yankee no follow Akata o grin

my French and English is very very good
That should count....

And I see what you did there

differentiating between AA and Akata cheesy

if that is the case
then you have an argument

Besides, let's not pretend like profiling is extraneous concept shall we? We as Nigerians, until we start using our second passports, are subjected to extra vetting, checks and visa hurdles when travelling but even so Akata way still dey burst our medulla cheesy some of us never see that kind lifestyle before grin

about this....

to use this naija passport don tire me

my last trip to Istanbul was just undecided

more reason why I have to move to Canada ASAP

two years

getting the passport there is not so difficult

Keep deceiving yourself.
If you were a citizen in Canada, you won't talk this way
God have mercy.

All the best! but if you go yankee no follow Akata o grin

thanks a lot

I've been reading and making my research on EE sha

And I used to dream that I'll raise $500k for investment (EB5 )

But it is a tall order

I will most likely get EE in future

Canada kpali no go bad at all

The level of disdain and inability to show compassion for each other that was displayed here is EXACTLY why the black race will NEVER be one. Akatawoman was wrong and I can say this as an AA, as well as some of you. Some of the things I've encountered and witnessed firsthand whilst being in Nigerian circles here in American, well..
Both sides are hurling mud, when there are no clear winners here.

And another thing, some of y'all need to know when you are being trolled.
