Pa Wenger would have brought in Khedira,Trossard and Martinelli and tell you Holding and Bellerin are like new signing, cheesy Do not forget Torreira and Guendozi are on their 2nd year and they are ready and matured to challenge for the title grin Also we have the best striking partner in the league, don't also forget Willock,Nelson and Niles looked sharp and are ready to fight for first team shirt cool
Khedira is an experienced world cup winner, he's bringing in some leadership qualities, Trosaard is the hidden gem from Belgium and Martinelli is the next big thing from Brazil..
Lastly, may I remind you we lost narrowly with 1 point to 4th and 2 point to 3rd, and we got to the Europa final defeating Napololi and Valencia This shows the amount of quality we've got in the squad, we need to keep them together for good cohesion. cheesy

.,... Say what you want about Emery but the man knows what he wants

.... Big shout out to BDR ..... He promised and he delivered.
In pa Wenger's voice, We do not need wingers, we're the highest scoring team behind city and lpool, we only need to work on defence and goal keeping, Don't forget Martinez is like a new signing, he'll give Leno good competition, cheesy we lost Holding and Bellerin and that affected our season, they are back soon and will be like new signing cheesy, Also Sokratis is going into hia 2nd year and he's ready and fully adapted to the league, so expect massive improvement at the back..

£72 for pepe?: No I really do rate him but I feel Ozil is sharp now from preseason and training, he's one of the most creative player in Europe, so we can't spend such amount. cheesy

Oh yes, but I'm for playing him in the AM role, he looks like he can affect the game more, shoot and lay the final pass..he can take Ozil's place or be his sub.
I don't trust him to do the Xhaka role well in England, I doubt he can defend, you know Spaniards don't defend much.
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jencejyde(m): 8:52am On Aug 02, 2019
In all this, i really miss Santi! If ceballos is anywhere near as good as cazorla in terms of ball reception and tactical awareness on when to press and when to hold the line in midfield, then we should be fine. Hopefully he can fill that void and as for the attack...i have nothing to say! God help all the defenders in the EPL when they gel as it may take some time. Defensive wise...we really just have to outscore the opponents because we are bound to conceive goals.

...... I think people get carried away too quickly and majority of our fans have short term memory or are just obsessed with a player.
.... We all witnessed the complete collapse that was our midfield whenever Xhaka didn't play last season and yet you see funny formations where you have Ozil, Ceballos and Torreira to play in a midfield in England! Lmao! ..... Emery is not stupid to use such a formation with a woeful defense at the back.

.... Apart from Leno, the first player on that team sheet is Xhaka.... Ceballos was brought in to compete with underperforming Ozil, even with the delusions of grandeur common with some of our fans as regards an aging player, it won't happen. I surely expect Ceballos to be a first team player by game six or seven and Ozil will be the one to take the fall.
... Xhaka is the only physical midfielder we have currently in midfield however his mobility and must start at the base of the midfield except if he is having a stinker of a game and trust Emery, he will haul him off at halftime.

.... I don't know how the defense or attack will be arranged because Laca can play as a false nine as well as a #10 as we have to be careful with two inverted wingers coming in centrally at the same time. Lyon's second goal happened because Auba had drifted in centrally but I expect Emery to speak with both Auba and Pepe concerning that. But for our midfield, Xhaka who is likely the first Captain will be the first name on the team sheet. No doubt about that.

Our fans opinion on formations I see everywhere has been funny, it can be likened to a village boy entering a fast food for the first time, he wants everything or a virgin boy who wants to touch everywhere at once.. cheesy

They just want to lump all our star players gbam in the starting 11, it only looks good on paper and not in reality..

I don't like Xhaka, but he has to start the CM ahead of Dani, Xhaka has been used as CB,LB and DM, so I see him a better defender than ceballos, ceba can shoot, drive the ball and do a final pass or cross, he shouldn't be wasted in deep midfield.

As for our forwards, Auba and laca will be very effective in the cf position flanked by Pepe..

With Auba Pepe
It will look like mahrez/ Vardy that year, where pepe bags lots of assists while Auba scores tons of goals..

With Laca. ...Peep
It will be similar to Sallah/ firminho, here, Pepe scores a lot, benefits from laca dropping deep and mobility, with laca also scoring sizeable no of goals..

Over the next 2summer, I reckon we bring in LW, like Soarez or any emerging star.

Like Liverpool of 2 years ago, score 5 concede 2.. Don't worry we won't concede much, opposition won't be comfortable attacking us, they will fear our forwards, so our defenders won't be troubled or presured much and should they? PAL will murder them.
wink

Yes, I think their Goal kepper killed pool in that final, Karius single handedly gifted Madrid 2 goals, At 1-1 and minus Sallah's injury, they've got chance in that game..

That Liverpool side beat city 4-3,3-0 and 3-1, beat Arsenal 4-0 and drew us 3-3 and host of other big results that year..

If we can look similar to that Liverpool side, we'll have an amazing season, we'll make top4 and win Europa hands down, then with money generated, we can bring in 2/3 more players like they did with v.dijk,Allison and Fabinho..

Maybe we bring in Soarez,Partey and a CB next summer, we should have gotten rid of Monreal, kola, mustafi, kosc, xhaka, neny, ozil and mhicky and some of of youngsters would have matured and ready then.

You can never tell. Ozil needs competition and that's what he has got. On his day, Ceballos is no where near.

True Xhaka brings steel and leadership, but his sluggishness which is inherent may cost him a place in that sheet.

My point is, it will be one of Ozil and Xhaka if at all Ceballos will play.

.... On his day, Ceballos is destructive too but between Ozil and him finding that amazing form, my money is on the younger player.

.... Xhaka is very important in our midfield play, the manner in which he spreads play is vital to how Emery wants his team to play. Ceballos will most certainly bring in another style but right now, it's only Guendouzi that can do something similar to Xhaka's role in our current midfield and he is still learning the trade. Yes, I would want a better player in Xhaka's place, but for now, it's not a if for Granit's place in Emery's team, it's certain. Except if Ozil brings his A game like I predicted in game 1 -- 6, if not, once Ceballos is settled, it's straight into the first team.

Guys how do you feel about Maguire and Aaron biasaka at utd, with dybala? I was confident we'll finish above them not until now cheesy
Well they may hit or flop, but I feel they've got some deals on point..

Maguire is similar to v.jigk, they are giant and comfortable on the ball, compared to ours who look shaky from their composure sef...

We need a defender of that mould, we can watch Wily boly once more this season, if he does well, he can be as good as v.d &Maguire..

Also Auba needs to bury all chances, even if he has scored hatricks, he should never get fulfilled or tired of scoring..
This new season promises to be a bruising one.

most new signings will most times do that. Bigger club, bigger pay the motivation will definitely be high.

New employees are usually more motivated than old employees.
