The Inspector General of Police(IGP), Mohammed Adamu, has deployed detectives to Enugu and Ogun States to fish out killers of a catholic priest and abductors of some pastors from the Redeemed Christain Church of God.

Force public relations officer Frank Mba who made this known said the detectives from IGP-Intelligence Response Unit (IRT), the Forensic and Homicide sections of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), would work along the police State command to bring the killers and abductors to book.

I find these statements by the Nigerian Police Force very laughable. The statements tell us one thing...that the Police Force in these two states as well the other states in the nation are not equipped to fight and solve crimes. Otherwise, why else would they have to send an investigative unit from Abuja to go and solve the problem in both Enugu and Ogun states? This is the more reason each state should be allowed to have their own Police. At least, it would eliminate having to wait until a high profile murder or crime is committed before the IG decides whether or not to send his so called special investigative team to solve the crime. Infact, Nigeria is a joke!
