Why do you think he will be denied?
The asylum was granted 2 years to his wife and children. He stayed back in Nigeria, and visited twice using B1/B2 and returned. It isn't stated anywhere he wants to get legal stay status based on his wife and children's status.

PS: I am just asking why for information purposes. I do not know or have an expert opinion on this matter. I just think it is a straight forward issue that he should not be denied

She can do so while he's here. He doesn't need to get a B1/B2 first before she files for him...

Can one request to submit one's passport later (say, a week after) upon a positive visa interview?

My colleague is scheduled for an interview on the same day that's travelling on a company's sponsored trip. If he passes the interview and the passport is collected, he won't be able to make the trip given that his passport will be required. Cancelling the interview means he not only forfeits the fee paid (he would have rescheduled twice) but also has to wait till October at least for another interview date.

Exactly, so why do you think the VOs will give him a B1/B2 visa knowing he has limited ties to Nigeria? She is free to file for him anytime.

The issue will also be what she claimed when she filed for asylum. If he was implicated in the violence she claimed then it would be hard for him to get a green card through marriage.

Yes it's very possible, they will instruction on how to go about submitting his passport when he return from the trip.

If the visa interview is successful, your colleague can inform the officer of his/her travel plans and he might be ask to submit his/her passport at dhl office upon his/her return from the official trip. I think someone has suggested this to an applicant on this thread before, but I am not really sure of the outcome.

I also submitted on the 9th of May, and no response has been received from the embassy, after tracking, its olny showing Application received up till this moment and no invitation for interview has been received.

Happy to inform the house that we the last dropboxers as in those of us who submitted from May 2nd to 13th, and haven't been called for interview have started getting our visas issued.

I submitted May 2nd and just tracked it and saw issued July 27th.

Yes they work on Saturday I gathered and even conduct interviews as well.

It was under administrative processing for 3days from 24th-27th july.
Before then all it said from May was application received.

So go and track your at ceac site, but be rest assured all final dropbox applications wld be resolved this week.
