He was already the British indoor high jump champion when he opted to jump for Nigeria at gold coast 2018 in NZ.

He was turned down not because he wasn't good enough but because he already jumped for UK sometime in the past. He protested and appealed against this and IAAF ruled in his favour and this made UK to release him to Nigeria.

Right now his profile on the IAAF website classifies him as a Nigerian representing Nigeria.
