Why Those Who Support The Arrest Of Sowore Should Be Ashamed Of Themselves by gidgiddy(op):
I'm not much of a fan of Sowore. I personally think that his Sahareporters website has deliberately made some misrepresentations I find offensive. However, it is important that whenever we see something wrong, we put sentiments aside and call a spade by it's right name.

What was it that Sowore did wrong that warranted the DSS to invade his home, armed to the teeth, and bundle him away to Abuja like a kidnapp victim?

He put the word "Revolution" as the appellation of his public protest?

Revolution has many meanings, the Oxford dictionary defines revolution as:~

1)The forcible overthrow of a government

2)The change of a social order in favour of a new system

3)A dramatic and wide reaching change in conditions, attitudes or operation

4) An instance of revolving

5)The movement of an object in a circular or elliptical course around another

Of the many definitions and meanings of revolution, why was it the first definition that the authorities decided to hold on to as the only definition?

Sowore has been organising and leading protests for over 20 years. He has never been violent, armed nor killed anyone. His protest has been mainly been about definitions 2 and 3.

So why is the government now saying he wants overthrow them?

How can an unarmed Sowore, who wants to lead a protest in Lagos, overthrow a government in Abuja?

How do unarmed people overthrow a government protected by hundreds of thousands of armed military personnel?

Is it now a crime to utter the word revolution?

Let's learn to leave sentiments aside and judge things for what they are. When Sowore was backing APC and Buhari, against GEJ and PDP, there was no problem. As soon as Sowore decided that APC was as bad as PDP and wanted to lead a protest against APC, they came for him under the excuse that he mentioned the word "revolution". A word with several definitions and meanings

Sowore's arrest was just one of the many arrests of people who dared to protest against the tyrannical government of Buhari and its failure to address social issues from insecurity to poverty

Whoever failed to support sowore for his presidency ambition which may be lawful revolution but now supporting him for revolution protest which will bring more hardship and unrest for masses should be ashamed of themselves .

Buhari is a coward! Do your job and let critics do there’s if your job is good enough what will be there to criticize. But a coward general who can’t defeat Boko Haram jumping to arrest Sowore. Free Sowore and let’s play on a level playing ground let’s see who fights better. Coward!

I fully support the arrest of sowore and his cronies.

Infact, he should be gagged in chains and drag along the streets of Lagos before being arraigned in count or executed by firing.

He committed a treasonable felony. An offence of the father earth.

I pray he doesn't end his life with rat poison because is obvious he might.

So he should be watched closely

Your government obviously took him seriously enough to go and arrest him for saying the word revolution

If your government acted that fast when herdsmen are killing people, thousands of Nigerian lives would be saved every year

Yes, unserious people like you don't take him serious.
I bet you have hungry family members who are crying because of the country's terrible situation.
People like you do not deserve any iota of good at all. Afterall, he could have exposed one of your corrupt uncles.
Why would you take him serious..

He is a terrorist, after losing the presidential election,he wants to take over the Federal Government the week after federal ministers were confirmed by the Senate,or does Sowore think he is more of an activist than Festus Kenyamo?

Thanks, bro.

We are in this mess today because people here have never learnt that principles matter.

It is not a matter of agreeing or even liking Sowore. For the record, I don’t like the guy and I believe that the aims of his revolution are short sighted if not timid. The point is that we are supposedly practicing a democracy and as such, the arrest and incarceration of peacefully protesters ( no matter what they call it) is an anathema.

But then again if a majority of the denizens of this blighted colonial prison camp had a clue about principles, Mumuharri wouldn’t be Presidiot today.

The writer of this article is very unenlightened.
You can't call for a revolution against a democratically elected government, if you don't like a government you vote it out at the general elections, that's what civilized countries do,or can you call for a revolution against Donald Trump?
Sowore or whatever his name is contested the 2019 presidential election and lost he should wait for 2023,that's what the Democrats in America are doing.
Our biggest problem in this country is illiteracy, when we keep having educated illiterates like this writer then we will never move forward.
Please have a look at the constitution of Nigeria and read what constitutes treason.
