I tried not to say anything in this matter, but for NANS to support the repression of protest... they too should not complain when DSS locks them up.

"First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out - Because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out - Because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out - Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

From 1999, we have an orderly way to change government. Not topple, but change. Every four years. Nigerians decided to elect, then re-elect PMB against better judgement. They didn't even show love to any of the third-party candidates. If youths had come together and cast their vote (not for PMB, not for Atiku), we might be saying a different thing. They refused, and now social media is full of online warriors. Unless we want to descend into anarchy, have to wait another 3.5 years, and hopefully make better choices.
You have really spoken well . Unlike the other half-baked nigga who does not know the difference between protest and revolution

What deep sh1t what do you mean by that? Buhari has taken us to the promised land flowing with milk and butter and honey like you and your people always wanted and clamoured for. Matter of fact majority of Nigerians again gave him their votes for second term to consolidate on his achievements!

Sai baba! Sai baba! Sai baba!

My people Abeg I'm trying to try out how being a zombie looks ooo . Lol! But on a serious note, you shouldn't ever complain about this country being in deep sh1t because you saw it and reinforced it.
I wish all the people shouting revolution/Buhari bla bla bla will take their protest to the politicians and demanding for the reward of their services. Politicians from 1999 to date,
They should use the protest to ask people likes of Demo Melaye how he got all he have while Kogi people are crying of hunger.
They should confront their Senators, Rep members, local Government Chairmen, etc to demand for what they did with the people's fund.
Anyone who can not explain the source of his/her should go in for it
That is how

akpanoka:
The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS on Monday berated Omoyele Sowore and his fellow organizers of the Revolution Now march over ongoing protest, describing their action as akin to a coup against a democratic government.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja, Zonal Coordinator, NANS Zone A, Umar Farouk Lawal, commended the Department of State Services for its prompt response, stressing that the planned protest would have degenerated if prompt action was not taken.

“For us, there will be no compromise when it comes to putting the nation first over and above any other consideration, it is Nigeria first and Nigeria always.

“It is without doubt that our nation is going through series of challenges ranges from insurgency, banditry to armed robbery and kidnapping resulting from many years of mis-governance, but calling for revolution is akin to coup d’etat against a legitimate government of Nigeria. It is call for chaos and civil unrest to topple the duly democratically elected Muhammadu Buhari led administration.

“Change of government should be via the constitutionally guaranteed means such as through the ballots or impeachment proceedings of the national assembly. As a matter of urgency, the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration must come up with other social intervention programmes to complement the existing ones that will empower millions of citizens and lift them out of poverty.”

Topple means to remove. I wonder why you people are so strapped with your military ideology of reasoning. To topple must not be violent or coup.

As I said, our biggest challenge in emancipating Nigerians is their backward thinking.

Be calling me half baked but explain if the Obama Revolution was violent.

The Industrial Revolution, now also known as the First Industrial Revolution, was the transition to new manufacturing processes in Europe and the United States, in the period from about 1760 to sometime between 1820 and 1840.

From your thinking which is highly scholarly, the Industrial Revolution was violent. grin

Which part of the Constitution in the Nigeria or the whole world allows you to topple a democratic elected govt? You are as confused as Sowore who participated in the presidential election which he lost woefully and thereafter wanted to topple the government.

We are talking of a government that have flaunted court orders and mismanaged the country.

The point is simple, Sowore was arrested because of the level of ignorance that has covered a lot of people. You have been schooled free of charge. No need clutching on to straws.

Revolution does not mean violence. We have seen protests leading to the removal (topple) of poorly performing governments.

Finito.

You are just arguing aimlessly, clutching straws. Did Obama advocate for a "revolution" that is in conflict with the US constitution? Did the industrial revolution include a change of government (violent or peaceful )?
What kind of revolution (change of government ) is Sowore advocating for?
You guys are so ignorant it's appalling. A revolution style change of government can be a very violent affair, as no government in this world world relinquish power without a fight. The Arab Spring (revolution) had devastating effect on most Arab nations, only Algeria had it slightly better and they are not out of the woods yet. Syria and Libya are still fighting a bloody war after the so called revolution.
A revolution style change of government in black Africa world be a very violent and barbaric affair. Due to our tribal and other primordial sentiments, millions of people will be slaughtered. People like Sowore and most of our politicians have multiple citizenship and would take the next available flight (that is if they don't have private jets) out of the country. It is you and I and our families that would bear the full brunt of such a revolution.

Are you the one that will see vision of violence? Sowore has called for peaceful protests until the current regime will step down. Any violence will come from the backlash of the criminals in the corridors of power.

So punishing him because of the criminal tendencies of those in power is evil.

My point is that Revolution does not mean Sowore called for violence. He never did. Whether you agree or not, you can not Bury the truth.

What you are writing here does not attribute anything to prove Sowore was advocating for violence. Read Sowore's words and tell me whether you see any hint of violence in it.

"The revolution has therefore become inevitable. We didn't choose to go for revolution, they chose it by ensuring that there was no level playing field in the last election.

"As you know, they did it in Sudan and it was started by some women. They were making fun of them but they did not stop until doctors joined them, the labour union joined them and what started with five people became 5,000 and 500,000 and became 5,000,000 and the regime fell..." Omoyele Sowore.

So I wonder why you people are hell bent on supporting the evil DSS for committing a crime against Sowore. It is baffling.

Was it only in the last elections that there was no level playing field? Which election in the history of Nigeria - whether local, governorship or presidential election was there ever a level playing field? So because PDP and AAC felt they were cheated on the last elections, we should adopt an unconstutional means of changing government?

Comparing a military dictatorship like Sudan and comparing a democracy like Nigeria is like comparing gote fish and obokun. The only way Al Bashir could have been removed was through a "revolution " ( that is a military coup), that is a very different scerenio in Nigeria. Buhari supposedly just won an election and had only recently been sworn in, and you want people protest to remove him. And put who exactly in power? Sowore that got less than 0.1% of the votes. You are setting the country up for a very bloody civil war. Even if Buhari is unpopular in the south east, South south and some parts of South West, he is immensely popular in the north east, North central and North East. Now if you remove him unconstutionally and put your own man, you think his millions of supporters would not plan a revolution also?

So I wonder why you people are hell bent on supporting the evil DSS for committing a crime against Sowore. It is baffling.
I am not supporting anybody, I am only supporting common sense instead of emotional rants and actions. I agree with most of Sowore's submissions, except removing a president by unconstitutional means.

If Sowore never called for violence, then how does he hope to bundle Buhari out of Aso Rock?

“I’m not talking of protest. I’m embarking on revolution. 85% of Nigerians are in support. Don’t tell me about legal implications or what a Judge will say. I don’t care. We must bundle Buhari out of that place.
