Ayade visits intending pilgrims to Mecca at the airport

Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade has enjoined the state contingents to Saudi Arabia to pray for the Unity and indissolubility of Nigeria while in the holy land for the 2019 Hajj.
The governor who made the call while addressing the state’s pilgrims at the VIP Lounge of the Namdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, also urged them to pray for the successful implementation of the state’s industrialisation policy which he noted is to turn around the economic fortunes of the state.
Ayade said he was very proud of the pilgrims judging from the reports he has received so far in their conducts and reminded them of Allah's injunction to always pray for their leaders as they is in diring need of such prayer to avert increasing cases of banditry and kidnapping.
While commending the Muslim Community in the state for supporting his administration's industrialisation initiative, Ayade opined that the prosperity agenda of Nigeria has no religious or ethnic coloration but unity of purpose.
In his words, "I am very happy for the pilgrims that our coming out of Cross River State to perform their mandatory religious rite at the holy land and also to pray for the state and Nigeria, you will go safely and return ssafely. Please, make Cross River and Nigeria proud while in Saudi Arabia.”
Continuing the governor asserted, “Your greatest prayer should be to ensure that Nigeria remains safe, united, indivisible and strong. I believe in the oneness and growth of this country and you should put that in prayers too in Saudi Arabia.”
According to Ayade, “the prosperity agenda of this country has no religious or ethnic coloration. That is why we must come together as a people to make the country great once again.”
He also reminded them to pray for his good health to enable him continue to pilot the affairs of Cross River State to his envisioned destination that will bring about desired socio-economic transformation that will impact positively on the citizenry.
"As you go to the holy land, please pray for Cross River State, Pray for Nigeria, pray for my good health to enable me take the state to the enviable heights and most importantly, pray for the continuous industrialisation of Cross River,” Ayade admonished.
He noted that, “Muslims community in the state has been of immense support to my administration. They have lived in peace with one another without any crisis everywhere the found themselves in the state and I want you to continue in that spirit while you go about your legitimate businesses.”
"As a state, we will continue to live together as one indivisible family and I want to assure you that I am very proud of all of you safe journey," Ayade added.
