solomonbrown64:Saka and Nelson are not ready, we hype our youngsters a lot, not many are like Sancho and Mbappe those ones are rare , most Academy players improve/improve as years go by from experience and good tutelage... This is not a friendly Colorado fc,newyork all stars or those gradeB teams, I saw Nelson bullied and disposed at old Trafford, when the real game begins those kids I doubt will do it.. Iwobi is young and matured, only thing left in his game is Finishing, Iwobi has top class game experience, a UCL game at Nou camp and impressed, he's been to the world cup, scored and shone in our only European final game in a decade...Faced lots of heavy weights in Europe, city, l.pool,Chelsea, PSG barca and many more.. This is painful! |

BlueRayDick:This is the same thing we endured and managed with Walcott. We accepted his inconsistencies and continued to project him as a prospect and before you knew what was happening he had turned 28 with no reasonable improvement. |

Fkhalifa:...... No worries, people will say Nelson scored 7 goals during his loan spells but won't see that he lacks in several other areas, Saka is even worse, same with Martinelli, they have zero experience. Look at Willock, see how Emery guided and slowly blended him in the team without pressure, today he is doing it against big teams but it won't be the same for Nelson and co. They will be thrown straight into the deep end and they are yet to show they are even remotely ready. ...... They will be bullied, even a 6'2 striker is always bullied and I was shocked with how Christensen bullied and Manhandled Lacazette the other day, talk more of light weight teenagers. Anyway, it will be Mkhi and Auba starting there most of the times, those leeches have to earn their money regardless. |

kodded:Exactly how I feel, Pepe is new, he may need time to adapt,he might be a Sallah or Falcao, Atleast with iwobi off the bench you have a man to switch pace of the game ..Dude is a typical EPL player, there are many other things to goals and assist... Ozil has overall better stat than iniesta on goals and assist, but many will take iniesta because they see what he does, penalty wins, fouls won, freekicks, set pieces, card offences won,pre assist, pinning opposition back and many others. |

BlueRayDick:the reason most arsenal fans are angry is because the club had the opportunity to sign Coutinho, but they rejected the deal, now they have sold iwobi without any replacement and you know that ozil, mhki and abua are practically useless in that LW position not to talk of the likes saka, nelson and Martinelli that have shown that they are not ready for the EPL |

Fkhalifa:what is really paining me is that we had the chance to sign Coutinho yet we rejected the deal |

Roland17:Just imagine how they are talking as if iwobi is some mbappe that just left Monaco ó. They keep Saying the left wing is dead without him, but funny thing iwobi cross accuracy is just 18%. He has won 256 duels and lost 331 duels, his shot accuracy is even below average 41%. He has played 100 Epl matches how many man of the match performance has he dished out? We got 40million out of this guy and people dey vex....It didn't even take Rashford one season to prove himself at man utd, but after 4 years iwobi still needs time to develop his potential....smh |

solomonbrown64:Everything is not stat I keep saying, Mustafi with all the shinny stat, wetin we gain? Nelson is very not ready, he isn't even starting in England U21s, his goals in bundisleaguedown are what any teenager can score, his general game play hasn't improved, he side and back a lot for a winger, he can improve anyways but physically and mentally? He isn't ready.. Christensen is even better, I cringed when I saw Lindelof used one arm and waist to clear Auba off the ball, the last time we fielded teenagers in a big game, we lost 8-2... Auba or mhicky on that LW means Tierney will suffer what kola and monreal suffered, in fact opposition will have field day on that wing. |

sod09:Brain alone doesn't do it anymore, what's the use of a brain that strolls, jogs, pass, pass and pass no purpose, gets bullied, gets run passed like they are a feather or paper? You know what, with Gabriel,Coq,oxlade and Sanchez we could have made top4 in the last 2 years. |

solomonbrown64:so the auba that was easily shoved had same goals with sallah, mane that can't be shoved Come on!! These new management are building a winning team not a trial team, abeg I'm tired of this iwobi talk next season is tomorrow. That fvcking Carrol will play us on Sunday ![]() |

Fkhalifa:... Lol, someone is asking me if Auba can be easily bullied, Auba of all people, lol. Emery is in his second year and he must find a way to patch things till we get a proper left winger. Tiernay won't be ready at least for a while, I am just wondering who will start in that position against Liverpool and Tottenham because as we saw against Lyon, one bad positioning from Auba or whoever is there and one lofted ball and we are done for. .... Monreal and Auba or Monreal/ kolasinac versus Salah and son and co ..... something will happen that day. |

kodded:Was Coutinho coming to sit on the bench or be a fringe player? Was he coming to replace Iwobi who was not a starter? Did we really need Coutinho? We did not have the funds to complete a full transfer especially when you consider that Coutinho did not want the loan option. You are speaking as though Iwobi was indispensable to Arsenal like he was the 2nd coming of R. Pires. Allowing Iwobi join Everton is proof that Emery is content with having Nelson, Martinelli, and Saka compete for that LW. We can not be hypocritic about the state of our finances and then fail to capitalize when opportunities avail itself. 40m for an inconsistent player who is being played out of position with no shot at starting in his preferred role is good business. |

kodded:Leave Mr Sod ![]() He doesn't want an attacking player who can turn, guard ball, go past 2/3 players and shoot accurately from anywhere on the pitch.. I know he'll still come here to call for the head of those attacking players who just pass pass pass and pass, lose the ball, jog stroll, walk, pass, cross once or 2ce, pass and starts running in 86th minute. ![]() |

solomonbrown64:Point is, the variable (physicality or bullying) you are using against Nelson, Martinelli, and Saka is pretty much applicable to Iwobi. In fact, we can not make any conclusive argument against the physicality of Nelson, Martinelli, and Saka because we have not actually watched them in the EPL in comparison to Iwobi whom I can make a conclusive argument against using your variable. |

kodded:The angry fans need to understand iwobi has been stagnant for 4 years, despite playing with Sanchez he hasn't learn how to beat his man on the wings....he once claimed he learns from ozil yet he can't even shoot as well as ozil..... Breaking news: Arsenal is done waiting for potentials that won't turn out to match winners. Arsenal is done selling players at scrap value after waiting for years to see them mature while rewarding inconsistency with new contracts. Let him go and discover himself over there. |

Fkhalifa:Ohhhh just stop it already!!! I am bored with the despicable level of hypocrisy about this Iwobi issue. Intensity does not necessarily mean strength on the ball. No one has said is a bad player but the way you guys are crying doom about this transfer is just troubling. An onlooker who has never watched football would think Arsenal sold the 2nd coming of R. Pires. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by solomonbrown64: 8:27pm On Aug 08, 2019 |
Roland17:..... You want to compare Iwobi's physicality and height with Nelson and co What on Earth is actually going on tonight, the way people are saying things contrary to what I know them for..... Emery said Iwobi was in his plans and few days later he gets sold. You think a coach like Emery will go into a new season with a teenager from fourth division in Brazil and a player with a failed loan spell and another who just got promoted from the academy as his starting wingers..... lol..... It wasn't his choice mate but that of the management. It's not because they are that good or even half the player Iwobi currently is, it's the offer that came in for him. ... Abeg, enough of this hype with youngsters who have done nothing extraordinary. Wilshere had far better prospects than either of them, same with Chamberlain but we know where they are today. |
