Am 100% for the sale of Iwobi...

Saka will easily replace him...

Somebody that will start dribbling from deep right to the box and becomes brain dead...

At least, once Saka gets the ball to dribble, he knows what to do with the ball when he gets to a vital position... Not Iwobi that will be dancing awilo...

If Nelson doesn't make it here, we sell for big money and not wait till he turns 26 and his market value depreciates... That's how a big club should do... angry

...... One of Luiz or Guendouzi should cut their hair jare, me no wan confuse for pitch.... lol... I still remember the scene where Gibbs was sent off in place of Chamberlain and he kept saying it wasn't me... grin .... e fit happen again.

.... So what will be our starting centre back pairing on Sunday.... I think it be Luiz and Sokratis, I don't trust Chambers.

..... You want to compare Iwobi's physicality and height with Nelson and co huh What on Earth is actually going on tonight, the way people are saying things contrary to what I know them for.

.... Emery said Iwobi was in his plans and few days later he gets sold. You think a coach like Emery will go into a new season with a teenager from fourth division in Brazil and a player with a failed loan spell and another who just got promoted from the academy as his starting wingers..... lol..... It wasn't his choice mate but that of the management. It's not because they are that good or even half the player Iwobi currently is, it's the offer that came in for him.

... Abeg, enough of this hype with youngsters who have done nothing extraordinary. Wilshere had far better prospects than either of them, same with Chamberlain but we know where they are today.
Again, you guys are being unbelievably emotional and hypocritical about Iwobi. Emery said he was in his plans a few days ago and rightfully so because there was no offer for him. Everton became interested after they failed with Zaha. We rejected the initial offer and that showed the intent of the club to keep him but Everton returned with an offer that is too good to turn down. We have been very very meticulous in our transfer dealing since the arrival of Raul and this is not an exception.

Iwobi's growth ceiling is not as high as you guys are predicting especially if he does not play regular football in his preferred role. Do you expect Arsenal to reject 40m for an inconsistent player who had a below-par season last year? Please tell me you are kidding!!! Because he will never command that amount again especially with the level of competition in this team.

Wilshere is glass footed and can not stay on his feet if his life depended on it, between him and Diaby I can not say who was worse. We saw what a healthy Chambo can do under the right coach playing his preferred position when he returned for Liverpool before the season ended. With Arsenal, we were forcing Chambo to play as a winger (LW) even though it was obvious he was a CM and not a winger. He joins Liverpool and is playing in his preferred position and everyone is raving about him including his coaches and team mates.

More oil to your head. In the past, we tolerated the inconsistencies of presumed "prospects" and before you knew what was going on they were 27 with no reasonable improvement other than "EPL experience". in other cases, we failed to extend good players and they left for free. Iwobi had a below-par season last year despite the number of opportunities he got and some people think we should not sell for 40m? I love Iwobi but I can not tell you how many times I was frustrated with him last year. Iwobi has had his opportunities, let others like Nelson and Saka get their shot at a position they were raised to play and if they fail it would not be because they did not get a shot.
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Nobody: 8:47pm On Aug 08, 2019
Iwobi was vital to us last season because he was the only dribbler in our team and beats his man often...

But now we got Ceballos, Pepe and Willock coming through plus 40m is something most teams won't refuse for a limited player like Iwobi who lacks intelligence in the final third...

Xhaka was vital to us because he could play those long passes...

Now we have Luiz coming in, when things get tough, he hoofs it for speedstars like Pepe and Auba...

No more being afraid of Xhaka's slowness and inability to turn with the ball and him possibly rusting on the bench because we have someone else to spring those passes...

Kolasinac got a lot of touches in an advanced position but his crosses were abysmal...

He is replaced with Tierney who knows when to play someone through, cross or shoot... No be only physicality we go chop...

Trust the board, they know what they are doing...

... Pepe and Torreira will not start. Laca is still in doubt because of small injury. Ceballos too won't start. It's Xhaka and likely Guendouzi in midfield and Ozil with Mhki and perhaps Nelson flanking Auba but if Laca starts, it's Mhki and Auba flanking Laca.

Iwobi broke into the team in 2016 after that game at nou camp, he became fans favorite, they even composed a song for him in England, " Oh Alex Iwobiiii, Oh Alex Iwobiii.. And lastly in thier faces, he came on in that European final and showed them, On that big stage, scored the only goal Since Sol Campbell in 2006.

..... Baba, I explained myself wella. Some folks think it's because Iwobi is brain dead, blah blah blah blah that's why he was sold rather it's because of the offer which came in for him. My point is that Emery won't put his hopes on those kids because Iwobi is brain dead, he would rather have gone with a brain dead player than kids who have shown nothing extraordinary. That's why I used the Wilshere and Chamberlain examples. Are these kids better than those two at the same age? The answer is a big no but despite the trust Wenger placed on them, they didn't deliver. Anyway, good news is that from now on, if you don't perform well, you get sold.

.... No sensible coach buys a brain dead player for 45m .... it's the improvements in Iwobi's game last season that convinced Everton to place such an offer for him.

.... It's all gone anyway. We should look forward to the new season.

Baba, Iwobi will not develop any further with us because we were playing him out of position and it bothered me. The kid is talented but he may never get that shot at his preferred position with Arsenal. We did the same thing to Chambo, Wenger concluded he was a winger because of his speed even though he showed otherwise in training and the display against my Milan side. We are doing the same thing to AMN by playing him as a RB even though he is a CM and we see how he struggles and suffers every time he comes up against a true winger. Eboue suffered the same faith when we moved him from his RB to the RW, his regression was fast and furious. 40m for a team rebuilding is a lot of money to overlook and I hope Everton give Iwobi the opportunity to play in the CM/AM position just like he does with the Super Eagles.

.... That's what I am trying to tell them bro. No be because of potential of Saka and co Dem allow Iwobi commot, na because of that 45m offer. Emery will pick a half fit Iwobi over any of those kids any day.

... Iwobi was our best academy product since Wilshere. You don't place a 45m offer for a bad player. The lad improved a lot last season and that beautiful goal at the finals showed someone who was working on his weaknesses. Anyways, Silva is a talented coach and will surely work on Iwobi.

.... Kean, Iwobi, Richarhison ,..... Everton frontline sharp pass some so called top teams this season grin grin
