Congrats but I think the Igbos should be commended because they have just as many elected or otherwise successful people as Yorubas who statistics have shown are prolific travellers than any tribe in Africa. Some people may want to argue this but the reality is Yorubas...just like an elderly Igboman told me....have been travelling way before some other Nigerians.
Kudos to Nigerians representing Nigeria positively abroad.More jelly to their cheeks. grin

It's good to come from a well known family. Obviously Dr Adesegun Akin-Olugbade is related to Chief Ohu Babatunde Akin-Olugbade, the Egba chief and First Republic federal legislator.

Dr Adesegun Akin-Olugbade worked for 11 years at the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) as pioneer General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Executive Director, Corporate Services and General Counsel, and as Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel.

Chief Ohu Babatunde Akin-Olugbade, born in 1913,
was a member of the House of Representatives between 1959 and 1966. Prior to that national assignment, the chieftain of the Action Group (AG) led by the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo was the chairman of Western Nigeria Finance Corporation. He was the Balogun of Owu, a major Egba sub-group, and simultaneously the Ekerin-Egba and member of Alake of Egba-In Council.

IamHeWrites:
An international legal and finance expert, Dr Adesegun Akin-Olugbade, has been appointed as a member of the World Trade Board.

Chairman of World Trade Board, Simon Paris, announced his appointment in a statement on Thursday.

Akin-Olugbade, an international counsel at ǼLEX Law Firm, joins 20 other global trade and finance leaders on the board as the first African member, Igbere TV reports.

Paris said that the appointment of the first African into the body comes at a most auspicious time, with the formal inauguration of the operational phase of the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).

“We welcome Dr. Adesegun Akin-Olugbade to our cohort as we continue to strive toward driving open trade for the benefit of all,” he said.

Paris said Akin-Olugbade is combining the highest academic qualifications and professional distinctions with excellent legal skills, extensive transactional experience, and corporate governance expertise.

Before he joined ǼLEX, Akin-Olugbade was with the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, the Africa Finance Corporation and the African Export-Import Bank in Cairo, Egypt.

Balogun Owu Ekerin Egba Akin Olugbade. Ebenezer Obey waxed a song for him in the 80s. He should be the father of this man and Bolu Akin Olugbade.
