Students of the Federal University of Technology Owerri, FUTO and other road users has been left stranded after flood washed away bridge in Imo state.

A video of the washed away bridge by flood has since started going viral as FUTO students and road users trying to link Obinze in Imo state were left stranded.

Stranded road users stood watching as the road continued to break off, leaving them all stranded. The "OBINZE TO FUTO ROAD" is said to have been in a bad condition for long, with the presence of the broken linking bridge. This incident is now a threat to both students and motorist that use the road.

The state of the bridge has been deteriorating since the rainy season started, with residents and motorists calling on the government to fix the road.  Emeka Uzoka shared a video of what the road looked like just four days before the complete collapse. He wrote;

"My Able Governor Sir, His Excellency, Daddy ⁦@EmekaIhedioha⁩ Kindly take 40mins of your time to see this short clip of a Bridge/Road along Futo Road, Imo State. It requires ASAP Response Sir. Location: Obinze - Ihiagwa Road, By Otammiri River Bridge, FUTO road."

On the same day, another road user called on the attention of the Governor of Imo state on the state of the road, she shared a picture saying;

"Still pleading to His Excellency, that this area of Imo state needs urgent attention as the road which leads to Federal University of technology FUTO Ihiagwa, the bridge is on the verge of collapsin. Save the people of Ihiagwa"

Yet, this new governor is still looking for what to destroy.

He should better start work. Rochas has done his own, whether good or bad. It's now his turn.

Flood over most of Imo state due to years of inept governors building fancy state capita but neglect necessities.


For decades. Orlu has been gradually threatened to extinction by floods because the governors can't complete a flood channel started by a military governor many years ago.

Ministry of flood or erosion should take action.

Truth be told no God is washing anyone .....their kids future is solid and they won't be stranded because they ain't living in Nigeria.......we only can make it happen by fighting for our kids and not hoping on some mythical God to change stuff
